The 300 pound gorilla re:Bush
Over and over pundits remark on how Bush never seems to
listen to advice and is weirdly divorced from reality, but
no one takes it by the horns.
Bush is an unrecovered alcoholic.
As such, his emotional growth stopped at the time
he started drinking. (say, 14 or 16)
As a result, he is an angry adolescent in the
body of a 60 year old.

An unlikely confluence of family position and
political circumstance has made him President.

As time has gone on, it becomes psychically even
more impossible each day, for him to come to grips with
reality. As the disaster grows, his psychic armoring
must grow even thicker by the day. He literally
can not acknowledge reality because to do so
would literally destroy his personality as he
knows it.

The reason you don't see this aired is because most
politicians and Washington media folk, (and I know a few)
are cut from the same cloth. Holding up Bush's facade
helps them to prop up theirs, as well.

As long as we remain sick and in the dark about our
motivations as individuals, the press will continue to
impotently wring their hands about "what's wrong with
Bush?" - when the answer is clear.

1. Perfectly put. Those MSM types knew perfectly well that the pretext for
for bombing Baghdad was BS. And, now, their complicity is coming to light.

So, they continue to treat gwb with legitimacy, because, once they acknowledge the shell that occupies the WH, there will be lots of questions from the American public. The biggest and most troublesome question for the enabling MSM: "Why are we just now finding out about this?" (DU'ers excepted, although there is probably a lot of nasty stuff about which even we don't know.)

So, the charade continues, clumsier and more ridiculous every day.

2. I think you're wrong about the media people
Edited on Sun Dec-03-06 11:37 AM by Warpy
because I think most of those vapid, blow dried bobbleheads suspect the truth. However, the media are now concentrated into a very few corporate hands, and those corporations want to hang onto their near monopolies. They know Stupid can be counted upon to help them do just that. They know someone else, especially a Democrat, might start enforcing some of those hoary antitrust laws and bust up their good things.

The number of people who don't recognize the emperor is not only unclothed but insane is shrinking every day, and that's due in no small part to those same bobbleheads who are ordered to tell us the economy is wonderful when we know it's not, to tell us peace and democracy are around the corner in Iraq when we know the coffins are coming home here and being set into the earth there grow in number every day. Fewer and fewer of us can accept the fact that a man who allows those around him to steal from widows and orphans and working people all over the globe is a Christian of any sort, even a bad one.

I think the media talkers know this all too well. I think they also suspect that by toeing the corporate line, they're sowing the seeds of their own future irrelevance as they become the foci of public mistrust. I have a sneaking suspicion they're all stashing those fat salaries in the hope they can support themselves for several years while they write the Great American Novel, or open shoe stores, or something, because their careers of telling people the TRUTH will be long over.

3. everyeone can trash bush these days
Bush is so november. He's gone as his lame-duck,
rubber stamp congress does nothing off in to the sunset.

Problem is, no matter what you make stick will disappear in,
(looks at keychain) 778 days 11 hours 22 minutes and 12 seconds,
which is continuing to count down in the big bush eggtimer,
no matter what accusations and unpopularity feather the
already-tarred fool, he's being served to you as a scapegoat.

Those in power, who need be tarred, every warmonger, democrat
and republican alike, every police/prison profiteering center,
wants to pretend it was just bush, just him who fucked up,
and the other 80% of america that was behind the fuckup is
innocently excused... and now that's melted away to 30% of
hardcore nutters, hived away behind their dear leader's
fragile worldview.

And the 50% of swingers can now say they were fooled by a drunk,
and that they couldn't have known better. And as simply,
the royal 'we' are all excused, we who've made our nationalist
living advancing the industrial/prison war cause, electoral
victory is a new coat of whitewash on the criminal enterprise
of plumbing the depths of slavery for profit worldwide.

But, its so much less messy to repeat the long dead list of
bush's tragic flaws as his character falls off its pedestal.

"The reason you don't see this aired is because most

are cut from the same cloth. Holding up Bush's facade
helps them to prop up theirs, as well."

like any of them are in touch with the same reality you and i are. they differ only by small degrees. that bush ever got where he is is his own kharmic destiny, but those who knew better are really to blame.
