Rapture Ready board: Christians stopped from praying but not Muslims!
Edited on Fri Nov-24-06 02:58 AM by Bluebear
Note: this is about the news story of the imams who were removed from a flight. Of course, the news stories say the ruckus started ON the place, but here comes the OP, saying 8 Muslims started praying in the gate area . . .well you can see where the conversation leads. As redstone points out below, this one will certainly be making the e-mail rounds.

=======

Allright, folks... this oughta get you steamed...

I live in MN... this situation was discussed on a local radio station this morning. A guy called in who was flying with his brother to see family... leaving from the MN airport.

Remember the ‘muslim’ conference held here? Over 100 Imams flying in and out of our city?

He said they were waiting at their gate when they saw about 8 muslims, right in front of them, roll out their prayer mats and begin praying together in Arabic. This guy and his brother, both Catholics, began reciting the Lord’s prayer out loud.
He said that before he knew it, there were other people, also waiting for flights, that began to recite the Lord’s prayer out loud right with them.

Sounds great, right? Just different religions enjoying the freedom this country allows...

Except security guards approached and told them to stop.

Told who to stop?

The ones reciting the Lord’s prayer. They refused to tell the muslims to stop.

The guy who started it claimed he was threatened with arrest if he did not stop.

Apparently, this might make the news tonight. I hope it does. The talk show host was pretty upset.

So am I.
========

we'll never know their heart's intention. Maybe they truly felt that reciting the Lord's prayer would combat the evil that was being perpetrated by the prayers to Allah.....just a thought.
========
The times we live in... come quickly, Lord Jesus.
========
Ann Coulter as usual does a good job of putting the events into perspective! (link)
========

What's gonna keep them from flopping out these prayer rugs at post offices, courthouses, schools, Wal-Marts, banks, etc? We'll be Islamasized before we know it if it isn't stopped.
========

Personally I think these muslims were trying to frighten the passengers.

They were not men of good will if they would do something that would frighten their fellow passengers (and incidentally the security guard).

As for prayer we christians pray as needed.. is this not correct? We pray for our family and our fellow men and women when moved to do so. How come this right was not proctected?? You know why? Because we don't cut peoples heads off if we are not allowed to do so.
========

I think the Christians who prayed were moved by the "Holy Spirit", I know in my own walk, when I come against an "untruth", as Islam is an untruth, I am forced to react with something from Gods Word, you know, The Holy Bible, so that it cant be misunderstood. .........likewise, when the imams started praying, the Holy Spirit (GOD) within those Christians, could not be contained,
and thus, SPOKE GODS WORDS FROM THE BIBLE, AMEN AND PRAISE JESUS CHRIST!!!.....it really saddens me to see folks, christians, supposively, who take the PC stand and deny The Holy Spirit from moving where it will.......

=======
I believe I would have done the same thing as the Christians. For example, my son is in junior rotc, and one of the girls (about 13 or 14) began saying a chant while they were at post at the Veterans day parade. Evidentally she could do so w/o moving her lips. When my 14 year old heard it and said what are you doing, she said "praying I'm a wiccan (she might have said pagan)" anyway my son, said then he began to plead the blood of Jesus under his breath. He moved his lips and one of the parents asked him what he was doing, he said "praying, she's a pagan" the lady patted him on the back and went her way.

We ought always to pray and not faint

========

Along with blowing things up, the muslims encourage each other to make even simple attempts at civil disobedience against their enemeies (if they can't/won't martyr themselves).

4. 2 cents worth, too: this is bullshit. i followed the story..
...it is a story of profiling panic, and not about discrimination against christians in ANY way.
isn't it a sin to bear false witness?

Yes the poster is right, but it seems to me there was a little bit of needless "Oh yeah? Take that!" on the part of the Christians.

And then this person gets it....

I have mixed feelings. Of course I'm outraged at the inequality of treatment... on the other hand, I have to ask why these guys started praying when they did. If their prayers were genuine, then I sympathize... if they were designed merely to antagonize the muslims and/or to stir up the security, then I'm a bit less sympathetic. As outraged as I am over their treatment, I'm also a bit disturbed that someone would use prayer as an instrument designed merely to antagonize or to incite discord. I'm not sure how to feel about it.

6. Do these idiots have no empathy?
Yeah, I know: stupid question. Look at that line: "Personally I think these muslims were trying to frighten the passengers". I'm an atheist, but if I ask myself what I'd do before a flight if I were religious, the answer's pretty obvious. But not to these bozos, who seem to expect cartoonish evil from everyone different from themselves.

19. a couple of pages in...
there's more than 1 that said pretty much what I said, that it might have been a little antagonistic on the part of the Christians.

8. excuse me for asking a dumb question
Why are the rapture ready looney tunes taking up space on this board?

The rapture is a badly fictionalised account of several carefully edited bible verses. It is absolute nonsense, don't pay any attention to anyone who takes any of that guff seriously.

I don't care what the rapture ready board says about anything. They are fools discussing their fantasy with other fools.

10. Great, now even the Lord's Prayer is subverted
in an effort to attack other people. I guess the Catholic brothers never read the part of the bible, or just ignored it, where Jesus says to pray in the closet, in private. Now praying is used not only by hypocrites to prove how "religious" they are but as a weapon against Muslims. What would Jesus have done?

12. thow shall not
out persecute the christians!...I often stop over at rapture ready ..I am fascinated by them...I have an aunt who may very well post there...

When the imams got tossed off the planes..it was only a matter of time before some story came up to show that christians are the most hated and we are all out to get them. Ya see it is not that we want separation of church and state so that all religions are protected..its that we hate christians...its not that we want to respect people who are not christian by saying happy holidays instead of Merry Christmas it is that we hate christians.

nothing new ....they thrive on these kind of stories. It helps keep the culture war alive and make things like GW Bush for president seem reasonable to them.

13. The little board I am on has been discussing this and the freepers
admitted this would make them nervous. To which I responded "People praying in an airport terminal make you nervous?"

So far, they have yet to respond. LOL

17. RW Christians and their persecution complex...
These people are just a little too fond of the crucifixion. Anyone else ever notice that? They can't stand to have anyone else seen as persecuted. And they're way too interested in the torture and pain endured by Jesus to pay any attention to the teachings of Jesus.

22. It was this very story, Minneapolis.
The story concocted about the "Lord's Prayer" being met with persecution at the airport grew out of the incident. It never happened.

23. What a bunch of idiots....
..First, anyone who listens to mAnn Coulter is ignorant asshat.

Second, Those Xtians are so void of intellect about their own "faith", brainwashing, conditioning, whatever you want to call its almost numbing. Chistianity, Islam and Hebrew are monotheistic, they worship "G-D". The Koran and the Bible both have jesus in them, Allah is the prophet as is Jesus. All three of them have the same fucking agenda, they want the entire world consumed or converted to its faith.

Religion is such garbage, I cant stand it. The ingrates are added entertainment; what idiots.
