Remembering where the repug party discipline comes from
It came from the money raised by Delay and Bush, and their ideological focus. They trade cash for party discipline, to push their vision of a permanent republican kleptocracy led by a single Great Leader immune from democracy's pressures.

Repug house AND senate members see themselves as foot soldiers to an imperial president's political agenda. They don't have a different agenda. They know that with enough money and the president working a war or two, they are safe.

I'm not sure the lesson for dems. We can't create the money machine Delay built, and wouldn't want to. We can't duplicate the proto fascist cult of personality for our candidates. So what is our analogue? Something to ponder.

1. I told hubby that tonight. The repubs
offer their guys money, rewards, etc. The Dems offer people that vote their way the ability to hold their head high, and know they did the right thing. Hmmmmm. Which one would money grubbing slime gravitate towards?
