So, Thurgood Marshall didn't like Bobby, and Carter didn't like Marshall...
And LBJ didn't like Bobby Kennedy because Bobby Kennedy wanted to move too slowly on Civil Rights, and he didn't like JFK for much the same reason.

So we have LBJ and Thurgood Marshall against the Kennedies and Jimmy Carter.

If DU had been around then, would we have blasted Bobby Kennedy or Thurgood Marshall as the DLC-style sellout/traitor/DINO/devil/whatever?

1. I don't remember...
I don't remember any of them going after each other in the media. If Carville has problems with Dean, he can bring them up within the party. He shouldn't be on TV 24/7 talking about Dean's "Rumsfeldian" incompetence.

2. This is not even close to the same situation
Comparing any of those great dead people (with exception of LBJ who was ruined by Vietnam) people to any of these medicore at best (even Howie Dean is flawed) alive people is a joke.

3. Oh yeah, that's always the excuse
I'm sure people then were bringing up feuds between older party members, and someone else would say "You can't compare JFK or Thurgood Marshall to those great figures."

The situation is always different. That's why history repeats itself.

That's a great line.
