5. From her website - she "decries the filibuster threat against Alito"

WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Senator Olympia J. Snowe (R-ME) today decried threats from prominent Senate Democrats to mount a filibuster preventing a vote on the nomination of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. Snowe issued the following statement:

“While I have not made any decision yet on an up-or-down vote on the nominee itself, I find it regrettable that there are those who are trying to resurrect a filibuster even as there is clearly nothing in the record that constitutes extraordinary circumstances. This unfortunate effort only serves to further politicize and polarize this process when this should be a time of careful deliberation based on the facts of the nominee’s record and testimony.”

6. I would sincerely like to know
what she thinks an extraordinary circumstance is. If nothing else, has it occurred to her that if she hasn't made up her mind about the nominee yet, further debate might aid her decision and abstaining on cloture would therefore be an appropriate action for her to take?

8. Well, "the record" has been expanded...
...if she's been listening and reading the NY Times.

She can still be lobbied to not cast an unprinciple, immoral NO on BOTH Alito and Filibuster.

Might open her eyes (and brain) a bit.

7. Personally, I'm thinking some of these guys have their office phones
off the hook or have told the Capital switchboard not to put thru calls. My "constantly busy" list has Bayh, Landrieu, Menendez, Lautenberg, and Snowe. I've been calling since 8:30 this morning.

9. Any DUer living in Maine(?) >>
If you agree, write any message you want and provide contact info (name/address/zip), we will send a personal lobbyist to Snowe's office today, to speak in your name.

If you can be "the client" just PM (or email [email protected] ) with your info and we'll do the rest.

10. Maybe she's on record saying she's against the filibuster but will vote
for it when the time comes in order keep Frist and Co. off her back (Rove too).
