Mark My Words: America's Favorite Democrat by Spring Will Be:
Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House. Take it to the bank. Americans are going to love her.

but I'll be happy to make room for Speaker Pelosi.

4. Any specifics as to why? Just interested on your take
on her. I have not seen much of her. What do you think she will do? Do you beleive she will strike a tone moderate enough to keep the Right Wing attack dogs from sticking?

8. She is going to set the tone very high and Americans will respond.
The Republican caricature that they created about her will backfire as Americans (Blue and Red) get to know this dynamic woman.

I believe in Nancy.

10. I agree with Demoiselle. Dean is MY FAVORITE Dem too!
I feel this way because had Howard not stuck to his 50 State program for almost 2 years, we wouldn't be the majority Party today! We wouldn't even have had a candidate running in a lot of the States we won!

I realize the Dems didn't win here in Ga. but at least we have a Dem opposition on the damn ballot! The last several elections, alost all the Pubs were running unopposed!

Howard has proven HIS value to the Party. The rest of the Dems still have to do that.

13. I know you didn't ask me, but here's my take on it...

As hard as it is to get a woman into a position of power in this country, I think Americans will look at her and be completely enthralled by her charisma and yes, feminine energy. I know it sounds silly, but she has both in spades. She has a way of handing someone's ass to them still steaming, with a gorgeous smile and eyes that are just lit up.

If she becomes more prominently factored in the media, I think that her even-keeled temperament and progressive ideas will appeal to the masses. She has expressed that she's willing to moderate her views as Speaker in order to better represent the country.

On top of that, she looks and acts professional, while at the same time extending maternal discipline over the cats she's herding.

I think all in all, she will raise the "likeability" factor of our party a great deal.

20. I like her and I didn't expect to. Her one line at her meeting with
Bush "We've just made history, now maybe we can make some progress" made my day. It made him look like a little boy who was about to be disciplined for being a bully. Go, Nancy.

7. I think you're right.
My 71 year old mother didn't know a thing about Nancy Pelosi until the election was over. Since then, she has seen several interviews with her and has read articles about her. She has spent the last couple of days telling me about Ms. Pelosi's family, her background, her agenda, etc. My Mom LOVES her! :D

She's got spunk ... and unlike Mr. Grant, I LIKE spunk! :bounce:

On edit: Thanks. It's been driving me crazy because I couldn't figure out who she reminded me of. She's a cross between Mary and Rhoda. :D

thing I notice. The clothes she wears is highly fashionable, and looks good on her. She makes my best dressed vote, tho what does all this matter really?

I have to admit, I had her mixed up with Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer. Now that I know who she is, I'm thinking she's been our secret weapon all along!

25. She reminds me of the best teacher I had in
high school in Sheridan, AR, Mrs. Brooks (circa 1980). Mrs. Brooks was my english teacher and, though I respected her immensely, I was scared to death of her.

She was my worst enemy when my goofing around would result in her hauling me out into the corridor for a little corporal punishment time.

But then, she would do something incredible like ask ME to be the editor/publisher of the school's first literary magazine. ME! The troublemaker. Go figure!

She was strong. But she was fair. And despite the trouble I could sometimes cause her, she could still recognize individual talent and put aside shortcomings.

I think Madame Pelosi will be such a leader.

33. Dean is my favorite Dem. I have yet to forgive Nancy for being in cahoots with Gephardt
during the 04 primary to beat up Dean. And what does Dean do? Hand her the Speaker's chair. I'll bet you ole Nancy hasn't told him 'thanks', either.

Howard Dean is a class act, way beyond most of the elected Dems that have been kissing Bush ass for the last 6 years--Nancy Pelosi among them.
