I do not support a judge (alito) who supports the STRIP SEARCHING of 10 year old girls. I have 2 young neices who will soon fall victim to wicked perverted cops. Do we Americans take that chance? Please,seek out a woman,or moderate judge for the Supreme seat. Also..
Any judge who puts the burden of proof upon a mentally challenged individual that get sodomized in the workplace need not be a Supreme court judge.. alito ruled that man prove the workplace was HOSTILE

I do not support a judge (Samuel Alito) who supports the STRIP SEARCHING of 10-year-old girls for a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court. This affects me personally, since I have two young nieces who could also fall victim to overzealous police. Do we, as Americans, want to take a chance on a judge with such extremist views? Please, instead seek a moderate judge for the Supreme Court vacancy, in the manner of Sandra Day O'Connor.

Also, any judge who puts the burden of proof on a mentally challenged individual, who had been sodomized in the workplace, lacks the insight and compassion to be a Supreme Court justice. Judge Alito ruled that this man had to prove that the workplace was HOSTILE to him!

We, as Americans, deserve a candidate whose views reflect mainstream American values. We can do better than Samuel Alito.

And DU was so chaotic, earlier, that your post was easily overlooked. I actually lost what I wrote, the first time, and had to rewrite it. And, just now, I'm finally able to access "my posts." What you had to say is powerful, and you can resend this, if you wish, but it wouldn't hurt to send it to the Republican senators, and those Dems on the wrong side of this important vote. 17. I agree that we all made such a great effort at this, and I do understand

the disappointment that's palpable here. I felt physically ill, after the 2004 election, and don't know if I would have made it without the support of DU, so I sure understand how others here feel now.:-(

And, of course, my friend, feel free to call on me, anytime, if you ever want me to look over anything that you've written. I'm always here. As I said, I used to be a professional proofreader, so this is second nature to me, and is one of the few skills I can offer my fellow DUers. They have certainly always been there for me.:-)

And don't deprecate your words or your intelligence. The fact that you're on DU speaks to how intelligent you are. Thank you for your kind words. Your message was strong and well thought out, but it just needed a little smoothing over, something I'm used to, since my job used to be writing about TV, for the masses, LOL!:D

And I totally sympathize with you, regarding NYC and 9/11. I regret that I wasn't yet on DU during that terrible time, but I've read the threads from that day and they make my blood run cold. I had a dentist appointment on 9/11/01, and knew something really terrible had happened, but I didn't understand exactly what it was all about until I was held hostage in my dentist's chair and watched that second plane hit the North Tower, over and over and over, on her TV, which was tuned to CNN. I walked out of there, scared witless, and that was the day that made me political. I had never paid a lot of attention, though I'd always voted, mostly for Democrats, but the horrors of that day made me determined to understand what was really going on in this country, and the world, that allowed such a terrible thing to happen. That was my awakening, and I found my way to DU. I've learned a lot in a short time, and I haven't much liked what I found, but I think I know enough, now, much from the incredible resource I've found on DU, never to be blindsided, again.:grr:

And there is more than one monster out there, threatening all of us, but I really do believe that there is power in numbers. And we sure have that, here on DU! I'm not giving up, anytime soon, and neither should you. We can do this, though we may have lost the first round. Thank you, my friend! Keep in touch and keep up the great work!

One other disturbing thing,alito was not FORTHCOMING with his testimony,threats of subpoena were mentioned. This man will have a seat for life. Find America a more moderate judge.
