Most Americans say they practice some faith.

While it probably shouldn't be the lead story with so much harder news going on, it's not unfathomable for a news organization to do a story about faith.

Yes, since a majority of this county practices one faith or another (I include myself), I don't need the Today Show or any other news organization to explain faith to me, religion to me. In fairness, I did give them snaps during the promo that mentioned to good the bad and the ugly that religion has wrought over the ages.
I just don't see why a network show has to take the first (FIRST) segment of the show when, as you pointed out, there is a whole lot of real news to report. Democrats taking the Senate? Democrats taking the House, War in Iraq. BRITTNEY? Hello?

I personally am enjoying it. I never knew that Jews believed in heaven, for example.

Faith is a reality in the world...might as well understand it.

There no guarantee for separation of TV and religion...it isn't government. It's TV.
