Oy...political idiots in my training

I'm going through training right now, and the class is full of kids who are uninformed. We haven't been talking politics, but I knew it would eventually come up, and I have been dreading it - I don't really have the luxury of smacking them down, since I have to be here.

Today a girl (no offense intended, she is too much of a kid to not be a girl) starts asking what the difference is between Democrats and Republicans. ?This was intended seriously. No jokes implied or anything, she seriously wanted to know. So this other huy did start trying to give a reasoned rersponse, and I held my tongue and didn't talk about how Repubs are at their core racists. However, he then started off on the Michael J Fox thing, and how Fox was holding off his medicine to exaggerate his illness. I set him straight though. Then the instructor started in on stem cell research, and how it could be used to farm babies for organs (!) I talked about the realities of stem cell research, and the waste of using 1 blastocyst out of several fertilized, and throwing the rest away.

Frustrating. Had I wanted to, I could've rolled up all their asses, smoked them, and shoved the ashes down their throat. But I am forced to mind my tongue while they unknowingly spew balatantly untrue crap. Most of them hear the Official Certified Lies, and never hear anything about the debunking of the lies.

And I can see iy now. There was a song on the radio called Bush is an idiot" or something similar, and she got pissy and started bitching about it.
