15. He went insane while on live TV.
He was rude, bombastic, and downright insulting - even more than usual. He made personal attacks on people, commenting on their looks. No lie, every race that was called for the Dems made him redder and nastier. He fawned over BugMan and Santorum, praising them to the skies. It was unbelievable. He nearly stroked out when McCaskill declared victory before her idiot opponent conceded.

Tweety lost it. Utterly and completely.

Particularly with Howard Dean, referring to incumbent Republicans losing as "slaughter of the innocents," etc. Generally trashing the Dems at every opportunity.

45. I thought his exchange with Dean was vile.
Very mean spirited and off balance for the evening. I guess he wanted a very detailed time specific blueprint from Dean on Iraq. And he refused to listen to what Dean was saying. The subject needed a different time and place due to the complexity. But Matthews was belligerant and offensive.

Chris and many of his ilk are doing some serious soul searching now, and may have to face a total realignment of their inner whore. Think of his spewing last night as akin to purging air from a garden hose...it will sputter and spurt a few more times before falling limp with a fading drip...drip...drip.

Have a beer instead, or post a happy story filled with puppies and flowers...little democratic puppies, and little democratic kittens, romping in the flowers together, secure in the knowledge that their vet bills will be covered should they fall ill. And that the evil Puppy Kickers will be brought to justice!

11. he had several meltdowns and was out right rude to Olbermann
every time he reported a race a republican lost he said "s/he is a great person, this is a real loss for the Senate/House" When he introduced a GOP "guest" he'd say "Here's a great person (blah blah)" but when he introduced a dem? No kind words.

And he was condescending to KO who he clearly saw as a "nut case" ("you're just trying to cause trouble with that talk about Lieberman not voting with dems" At first he was playful then he just got mean. KO is such a gentleman I bet he won't complain but Tweety was rude to him.)

Tweety's bro ran as Lt Gov in PA and lost so I'm not sure he's the right person to do the broadcast, maybe he couldn't be impartial. I think his act is to be against whoever it is he is interviewing...unless that person is a republican.

up KO for the one-liner. I revelled in Tweety's pathetic meltdown and Keith just kept sticking it to him and quickly jumping to the next subject before Tweety could chirp in. With every whine that Tweety whined, with every puppy-dog pout that Brit Hume pouted and with every Bullshit statement that Ken Mehlman smiled, I just laughed all the harder.

The Republican party organizes so well- the Democrats are always in Chaos.

When Hillary was clapping @ her rally he said "It looks chinese or something". He thought she needed to stop that.

"I saw Al Gore last week... so fat, I thought it was the Hindenberg"

He kept saying that Dems have no plan.

All of the repubs were good people, deserved better... BLAH BLAH BLAH

nothing will. Background: He was interviewing Kathleen WILLEY at the height of the FAKE impeachment. Off-air, she had told him the name (wrong person) of who she suspected as a "jogger" who had threatened to kill her cat. She refused to name names on the air. Tweety kept badgering her to say it. When she wouldn't, he said, "O.K., I'll do it. Is it (Name, Surname)?" She wouldn't confirm. Pat and Bay BUCHANAN's mentally disabled brother was watching, and proceeded to take a weapon to the house of the person Tweety named. The person was not there, was on a business trip to the west coast. Inside were a group of foreign exchange students. There were cops, weapons, detentions, but nothing happened to Tweety.

He's been incredibly rude to KUCINICH and SHARPTON and "fired" DONAHUE on the air. I heard SCARBOROUGH's rant after he got started, but didn't get what, uh, "triggered" it.

28. I caught a few minutes of MSNBC
I only turned it on because of KO. Tweety was going on and on about Santorum's "magnanimous" concession speech, what a "great" speech it was, etc. He peppered this in for several minutes, very odd non-sequitors. Very embarassing and awkward, I thought. I was expecting him to volunteer at any minute to lick the shoes of every Republican that comes his way.

Earlier I caught Tweety and Scarborough going at it. Scarborough was clearly upset though restrained, the two continuing their cuts at eachother for a few. As I care for neither, I stepped away (back to the computer).

I might add, the 3 minutes of cablenews I watched last night was 2 minutes longer than my combined watching this whole year. I've pretty much boycotted TV ever since I watched Paula Zahn, in 2002, say "Obviously he's been drinking Saddam's koolaid" (or something similar) after cutting away from Scott Ritter. What I know of MSM today comes from critiques I read in places like this. I don't know how any of you can watch (it would raise my blood-pressure and give me indigestion).

When he panned Hillary's speech (repeatedly) and Pelosi's, he said things like, When women try to give barn burner speeches, it's grating, like nails on a chalk board. This, after six years of hearing bush butcher stumble and "ummmm" his way through the language with that pitiful vocabulary.

Then at one point, when they were discussing African American candidates, Matthews referenced the song "Movin' On Up" from the Jeffersons. I thought that was tacky.

One moment that also stands out for me was when blubber butt Tweety said Gore looked so fat he reminded Tweety of the Hindenburg. :wtf: His jowls and chins were jiggling and trying to make a break for it while he spit those words out. He went after people's looks, voices, everything. Every petty, unprofessional way imaginable. There were so many appalling moments, I can't remember them all. 33. He was making me nuts.
And I mean from the get-go. It was one of those times I had to keep balled up socks and newspapers next to be so I could throw stuff at the TV without damaging it. He was really awful to the democrats. His "interview" with Howard Dean was disgusting. I mean, he pretty much demanded Dean be able to lay out a complete plan for getting us out of Iraq, and then of course, tried to contort everything Dean had to say. Howard stood up to him though, and told him not to try and put words in his mouth. And the whole thing about Hillary clapping...what the hell was that all about?

I thought Keith was beyond a gentleman...actually, I think he was somewhat amused by the whole thing. A couple of times I thought he was just going to start laughing in Tweety's face.

And was it me, or was the coverage on MSNBC somewhat skewed toward conservative commentators? I mean, it was almost like the honchos decided that because Keith's ratings have been sky-rocketing that he would be able to attract viewers, but he was given very little opportunity to actually say anything. Between Tweety, Michael Savage, Joe Scarborough, and Andrea Mitchell he was pretty much brushed aside.

I did miss Tweety's total meltdown, though. Would have loved to have seen it, so hopefully it'll be on You Tube or someplace soon!

57. One Republican lost, and Tweety actually asked, "What did he do wrong?"
"Why was he voted out?"

And Shrum (I think) responded, "HE SUPPORTED BUSH down the line! (ya moron!)"

59. tweety is fighting for survival..KO is not..KO has blown the doors off tweety
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 11:30 AM by flyarm
and tweety is both jealous and in disbelief that KO's ratings have left tweety in the dust..remember,,tweety was big man on campus at MSNBC..not so anymore..KO through intelligence and guts..has taken the reigns at MSNBC..and tweety is floundering..

remember when KO's show ran twice a day early..well he built his ratings..then hardball & tweety were losing audience and numbers..while keiths began to climb..so tweety did a power play and demanded the two showings..in the slot Keith had..but the switch did not give tweety the same ratings climb..

and tweety was losing viewers to Keith...now keith has virtually left tweety in the dumper...and it should be a lesson to us all..

if they spew the * and rove talking points..shut them down...just turn on for Keith..and we can show the success of truth...and honesty in reporting...

many of these rovian talkers are going to be sent walking soon..we can help it along..shut them off and keep them off...

fox is slowly dying..cnn is mediocre..but numbers are not good..

we can build people like keith and truth..with our remotes and tivo's and cable and direct tv..

we can chip away at getting rid of Nora Whora..and andrea mitchell..we can pile on now..and hard...we can not be lulled to sleep..now we must hold these corps accountable..

remember ..they use our air space for free...

it is our air space..

they have an obligation to the constitution..and we the people...

and we must let them know now..we have had enough..we are mad as hell and we are not going to take it anymore..

the truthful will survive..

the others know their time is very limited..

tweety has seen his last big payday..and contract..

that is why he was nasty..he saw the writing on the wall..when they made him share the stage with KO on election day...

and Keith.. was so professional , whitty..and intelligent...he proved why people will continue to grow in his audience..

American people are not all stupid!!

64. Perhaps he knew his gravy train was pulling into it's last stop.
I sometimes wonder if many of these tv "journalist" types have their incomes supplemented by the republicans... sort of a kickback. The repubs have done this before, paying for news stories.. etc. I bet the right wing losers know their media days are numbered.

Matthews should be fired for his comments about women, minorities, and Al Gore. He should issue a public apology to EVERYONE he offended last night. WTF is wrong with him??

67. i believe he had an epiphany yesterday when he was forced to share the
stage with Keith..i would imagine his bile ducts were choking...he is no longer the big man on campus...and that is because of all of us..and all the Americans who chose to seek the truth..instead of the fucking talking heads..and roves mouthpieces..

Americans are mad..they know they have been lied to..so the liars will have a short shelf life now..and many will kill themselves off..just like tweety did today..because they are losing their audience and power!!

65. I wrote to "[email protected]" last night
His remark likening Al Gore to "The Hindenberg" finally did it for me.

He was over the top, out of control last night. I'm looking forward to the transcript.

68. We all need to write..and we all need to tell the media we are going
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 12:05 PM by flyarm
to hold them accountable to our constitution and the truth..and then just like a parent must do..we must follow through..

ultimatiums only work when you carry them through!

we now must be the parents to our new media..we must take it back..and accept nothing but the truth!

this child is in all our hands..

we are the majority in this country..now we must use our majority wisely..we must shut down the liars..
rush would not succeed without us listening..shut him down..fox will fail..if we just turn them off and keep them off..

we have the power..please lets use it!!

69. His episode with Ed Gillespie was putrid....he went down the list
of Repukes who lost....Kyl, Northrup, Weldon. Kyl "always on TV", Northrup on Hardball often, a great gal, Weldon a "workhorse"--all these "moderate" Republicans, real legislators, workhorses. etc etc.

Meanwhile, these f*ckers voted in lockstep with Bushco, so how were they real "moderates" or "legislators"

It was just nauseating.
