AlitoWhoreWatch: Corporate Media Freaks Over Alito Filibuster
AlitoWhoreWatch: Corporate Media Freaks Over Alito Filibuster
By Bob Fertik
Created 2006-01-28 09:20

The Corporate Media is completely freaking out over the possibility that Senate Democrats, led by John Kerry and Ted Kennedy, might actually find the cojones to filibuster the nomination of Big Brother Sam.

Karl Rove transmitted a non-stop stream of lies on Friday through the earpiece of Jim Lehrer, who trashed Kerry and the Democrats with the enthusiastic help of David Brooks (of course!) and Mark Shields (who gave the worst performance of a Fox News Democrat so far in 2006!).

The segment is a veritable feast of absurdities and lies for bloggers to savor! For example: did you know that Clarence Thomas hates Truth, Justice, and the America Way because he was completely traumatized by his devastating confirmation hearings? According to Mark Shields, if Democrats had only been nice to Thomas, he would be voting pro-choice with David Souter! Who knew?!?!

The liberals who fought Judge Souter's confirmation, all the opposition for him came from the liberals and he ended up being a liberal vote. In the case of Clarence Thomas it's probably fair to say that it was so acrimonious, so bitter, that it might have driven him even more into the arms of Justice Scalia than it did.

(Memo to Mark Shields: this was your most despicable performance in your long career of pretending to be a Democrat. If you love George Bush with such devotion, then go register as a Republican today. Better yet, pick up a gun and go fight his disastrous war in Iraq. And give your "Democratic" spot on PBS to a REAL Democrat - someone with the cojones to stand up to the Emperor Without Clothes and his mouthpiece, Jim Lehrer!)

This morning, FOX News ran two segments in the 8 a.m. hour of Fox & Friends - first Julian trashed Kerry from NYC, then Kelly Wright from DC. They showed absolutely devastating footage of Scott McClellan smirking about John Kerry from the podium. Boy, that will certainly sell Big Brother Sam to the American people!

2. I happened to catch that FOX segment. It was all about the foolishness

(in their opinions) of the filibuster, with 0% meaningful information on the reasons given by Senator Kerry in his speech. No wonder those viewers voted for Bush. They are being spoon-fed lies.

And McClellan should be ashamed of that performance about how Kerry was "skiing in the Swiss alps." (Did he really say that precisely? That was the impression, at any rate.) Kerry was doing the work of the Senate, attending a prestigious economic summit. Jeez.

3. "The Filter"
Bush likes to talk about the filter, but it seems to me our Democratic leaders are the ones who are listening too much to the filter (aka the GOP mouthpiece media). I really hope they will follow through with this filibuster. How much of John Kerry's speech did any of them show? But they are freaking, because we can see Kerry, and Gore, and anyone else who speaks up through the internet and broadcast providers like C-Span. And the truth gets harder and harder to obscure.

Give the American people credit -- they are catching on to the strategy, finally. More and more people are seeing through the fog . . .

The last throes of the Neo-Con insurgency, if you will? We need this filibuster, BAD. We must pound them unmercifully with their failures.

5. It is an interesting spectacle.
The whoremedia pronounced Smooth Sailing For Alito and was shocked, SHOCKED! that the senate Democrats were not following the script. The filibuster might be a bust, or it might not, but Kerry and a bunch of other DWS (Democrats With Spine) have redeemed themselves in my eyes by publicly demonstrating that YOU FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT, regardless of the consequences.

7. And not one word about the NYT powerful editorial...
urging a filibuster, and calling the prospect of Alito on the Court "frightening." Or of opposition from groups beyond the liberal blogosphere. It's outrageous, and frightening, how they are able to control the media message.

14. It continues to appall me that the media marginalizes and trivializes ...
... civil rights groups, worker's rights groups, and women's issues groups as some far-left 'fringe' groups. Since when didn't civil rights apply to ALL people?? Since when didn't workers' rights apply to 140,000,000 people?? Since when didn't women's issues apply to 150,000,000 people?? There's not a fucking thing that's 'fringe' about groups that stand for the rights and liberties of every individual!!!

I think the average Reichbot voter would slash his own wrists if he was told somebody else would then bleed to death. How can anyone be so consumed with sociopathic paranoia that they'd accept a harm in the hope that others would be less able to survive that harm?

16. Exactly...
They can exploit the tragedy at the West Virginia Mines, run 24-7 footage of grieving families, even get their reportes to shed a tear - but do they ever report on why this tragedy happened? Do they report on how the Unions are busted or how safety conditions are lax? NO... all they need is a shot of Geraldo hugging a dead miner's wife and they have their story. This was a grand example of how labor is getting the short end of the stick... but you never hear that story. Corporate frowns on doing any actual reporting.

10. I'm so fucking sick
of seeing headlines saying "Filibuster Unlikely" and "Alito's Confirmation Assured". These bastards are trying to make it a self-fulfilling prophecy, aren't they?

13. Outcome?
It seems that not all outcomes can be determined in advance. Look at what happened in the Middle East this week.

17. We've got them quaking in their boots...
You can gage their tempuature by their willingness to ramp up the "Democrats are rediculous for trying a filibuster". Watch in amusement as it will only get worse tomorrow.

Keep fighting people!! We're getting to them.
