GOP making fake calls in NYSCD 19 robocalls

They say, "John Hall would like to be elected to congress. He is (and then it goes negative).

The calls are placed to Dem and blank voters. They are annoying, and if you don't listen to the whole message, it will call you back.

Worse still, the Hall campaign is using robo-dialing (which means that the calling volunteer does not know the name of the family that they are calling) . The last robo-dial script I heard from the Hall campaign was pretty negative, which mirrors the GOP robo calls.

This just makes it harder for Hall to win.

1. If there isn't already a law against robocalls which...

...call people back when they hang up, there should be.

With criminal penalties.

Likewise, there should be criminal penalties for robocalls which don't say who is calling at the very start.

3. My wife got three of those calls today in Port Jervis.

She said I don't give a shit if he's a Democrat or not, I won't vote for him after all these calls.

From the mid-Hudson to the Midwest, the phones of voters were ringing off the hook this weekend with automated calls slamming the local Democrat running for Congress.

But woe unto any election-fatigued citizen who chose to sit through a football game or family dinner rather than the full political attack. The machine called back, again and again — as many as a half-dozen times — until the message played through, local voters say.

Such calls flooded phones and frustrated voters Saturday and Sunday in the 19th Congressional District. There, the incumbent, Rep. Sue Kelly, R-Katonah, is locked in a tight race against Democratic challenger John Hall.

6. I only received one call and I hung up. It never called me back, thank goodness.

I've been cursing enough with repug calls. I think the worst was the Tom Ridge call, trying to scare the shit out of everyone...terra, terra, terra!!!!!
