Further anecdotal evidence that Diebold products are big ol' chunks of shite

I just went to use one of the three newly installed cash machines at my local Toronto Dominion Bank. There was a line-up, because two of the machines were "temporarily out of service" and the third one was being v-e-r-y s - l - o - w. One woman thought the machine had just eaten her card. The TD advertising above the machines says they are "changing for the better".

Hmph. And the machines were made by DIEBOLD! Those mofos can't even make their bank machines work.

Be afraid Tuesday if where you live uses Diebold voting machines, be very afraid. At the very least, insist on a paper ballot and a pencil, so you can vote the old-fashioned way -- the way that works!

1. The problems are almost certainly with the bank's software

I used to work as a banking systems analyst. The Diebold ATMs have always been very solidly built and reliable. Newly deployed systems often have problems. If not with software, the issue is usually data connectivity.
