Is KATHERINE HARRIS now praying that Jews be converted?
TAMPA - U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris, who has made past comments that raised questions about her religious sensitivity, prayed in a telephone prayer service recently that God would "bring the hearts and minds of our Jewish brothers and sisters into alignment."

A Harris spokeswoman said Friday that the Longboat Key Republican, who has advocated electing Christian officeholders, was talking about converting Jews to vote Republican, not to Christianity.

In a conference call prayer service sponsored by a religious conservative group on Oct. 3, Harris expressed the belief that Florida will lead the nation in a spiritual reawakening. She said that will include changes in government, including prayer in schools and changes in tax regulations on churches and charities.

"We just decree and declare there will be a shift for this nation, that there will be an enormous revival, even a revolution as we speak," she prayed. "Once again, we'll rejoice, rejoice with your Son and bring this nation into alignment with your government with your kingdom principles and authority."

5. I'm Offended...She Must Appologize NOW!!!!!
Ah gotta love Pink Sugar. I think it was Josh Marshall who wished she'd win just cause she provides so much good material.

All kidding aside, this wasn't botched...this was pandering to the anti-semetic fundies who are about all she's got left to hop on those church busses next week. I've had several "born agains" (our line here: if they can't figure it out the first time, ya think they stand a clue the second time?) who found out I'm Jewish attempt to "save me"...tell me that my spirit will wander aimlessly and unless I accept Jesus, I'm actually "illegitimate" (yes, I had a fundie tell me that once). Usually when I hear this crapola, I ask them to produce a Postcard From The Edge...and then my favorite two word question that always ends a religious discussion: prove it!

2. Jews Are Already Voting Republican
not all Jews, but the trend is there.

They are voting Republican because it used to be Democrats who were more pro-Israel and Republicans who had a hands off foreign policy. But that was before the Neo-Cons started playing Brain (while treating other Conservatives like Pinky).

A strong Israel fits just fine into their agenda.

I won't say too much more because this isn't the Israel/Palestine forum, but it's true. Jews are defecting over Israel.

OF course, some of us care about other things more or reject the neoCON ideas

6. Only The Old Rich Ones...
The only bastion of pro-Repugnican Jews I see these days are either the real old, wealthy types (almost all "self-hating Jews) or the orthodox who are just as brainwashed as their xtian cellmates. A vast majority of Jews viewed the "pro-Israel" stance of this regime and its attempts to reach out to Jews based on "loyalty to Israel" as a wolf in sheep's clothing. Not every Jew supports Likud or the Israel or nothing agenda. Not all Jews vote as AIPAC says we should.

Look at the voting records, Jews still vote overwhelmingly for Democrats.
