Made the mistake of turning on MSNBC
I broke my two year plus boycott of corporate media to turn on MSNBC because someone on DU said that Keith was going to be doing coverage all day. Mistake. Big time.

The corporate spokesperson's questions to the guests was just as slanted and biased as the coverage I remember two years ago. There was the requisite partisan Republican hack with a strong viewpoint allowed to go on for at least twice as long as the other guest, complete with friendly suggestions and smiles from the spokesperson.

Then there was the other guest, placed there to provide the illusion of "balance." However, this guest was not a Democrat and was not partisan. He was Craig Crawford, and his comments were straight down the middle on this occasion, or even slightly pro Repug.

Nowhere during any of the coverage was it mentioned how lopsided the polls are RIGHT NOW, even after all the corporate media's whoring for chimp with the Kerry "controversy". The average person just turning in would assume that the races are all very close, and anyone could win. Of course they want us to think that, don't they?

There was a question about the repugs giving up on the Senate, but only the Repug hack was allowed to respond, and Crawford did not seem interested in presenting the Dem side anyway. He's not a Dem. The corporate media is still shilling, people. Don't kid yourselves.

1. hahahaaa... Santorum is on w/Rita Cosby right now.
he's very optimistic, even after she just said it would "take a miracle" for him to win.

he says his people will turn out and Casey's won't

he says he and his wife and six children will be packing into their van and hit the road. Is their dead baby in there, too?

Rita says he's a "highly regarded member of the senate....I've seen that myself"!!!!

she really said that!

3. That voice.
It sounds like a parody. Do they ever interview Dem candidates or just give the losing Republicans, like Ricky, endless time to spin?

my thread without responding? LOL. Okay, so I realize that none of this is news to anyone, but it kind of was to me. I expected SOME improvement in two years.

4. I agree
MSNBC has some good shows like Olberman but they definitely lean right. One trick they and the other cable news network pull is to play the current nasty GOP political ad over and over again under the guise of covering it as a news story. They also like to give a lot of screen time to the Repug candidates that are in close races. I remember back in 1994 when the Repugs were set to take over the house and all the talk shows were talking about how many seats would the Repugs take. Now it seems they all talk about is can the Democrats really take 15 in the house and 6 in the Senate, like maybe the Repubs will make a big comeback in the last 2 days of the race. As you pointed out they don't spend a lot of time covering the big picture of Bushes and the Republican congresses ratings being way down, people preferring the Democrats, etc.

5. It's easy to boycott when you don't have cable...
which I don't, and I don't watch the news on ABC NBC or CBS either. I refuse to be lied to anymore! Why aren't more boycotting around here? Now that's THE question.
