Will the next promised terror attack help or hurt president cheney?
Edited on Thu Dec-29-05 06:25 AM by mopaul
i have heard president cheney and several other top govt. officials say in no uncertain terms that we WILL definitely be attacked again, not if, but when, while telling us at the same time that we are safer because of his war on terror.

when it happens, and president cheney has promised that it will, will it make him look bad or will it actually help his agenda, like the original attack did? we need to pre-emptively think this out, cause it's coming, president cheney has guaranteed it.

2. A lot will depend on who is effected
I would predict if it is another MIHOP, which I assume it will be, it WON'T occur in a red state, but one of the blue ones. If it is mainly poor people who get it, not much will be done at all, except move the survivors so their former residences can be gentrified. One thing for sure-the government will have the names and photos of the perpetrators almost instantly, and they will be labeled as Middle Eastern-and Iran will be blamed so we can go to war there. And I fear an even greater backlash against Muslims here in the US--hey, maybe the mosque surveillance will help catch the people who try to bomb and kill innocent people who attend them--after all, aren't THEY terrorists?

4. How will we know
they have eliminated the color code system, so we the people, will never
know. We have almost eliminated the fear factor, so Cheney will have to
create another smoke screen to keep his followers. But will that fail,
because of the resent wire tapping.

6. Hold The Phone, Here!
If we WILL be attacked, doesn't that mean we're not safer? If so, why is Silverspoon telling us his spying made us safer? We're either safer or we're not. We got attacked once, nobody was spying on americans, we didn't blow up a defenseless country, and didn't alienate the rest of the world. Now, we've done all those things and we're still going to be attacked? That would seem to me to be an admission of failure.

8. "an admission of failure"?? Nonsense!
Edited on Thu Dec-29-05 09:06 AM by TahitiNut
Everyone knows that the "weak on defense" Democrats in Congress have used their enormous power and influence to block Dear Leader's enlightened initiatives at every turn! It's all their fault that Glorious George, despite his unwavering and unrelenting efforts, has not been allowed to secure our borders and expel the evil-doers in our cities and towns across Amurika!

Excuse me while I go take a bath.

9. Duh! What Was I Thinking?

The minority party always has complete control! I forgot! Thanks for reminding me.
The Professor

On Edit: Hold the phone again! If the minority party can ruin things for a president, then wouldn't the dems be able to take credit for the great "successes" of the Reagan years? And, wouldn't the 90's successes be as a result of the minority dem party? Admission of failure, indeed.

7. The sheeple will rally around the Gopher King
If people thought logically, they would realized how this admin has utterly failed them. But Goebbels (er, Cheney) will tell everyone how this is the Dems fault, and how they need to rally around the Gopher King, and take away even more civil liberties.

I'm not very confident in the future of this country sometimes.
