Does showing Corkers daughter tonguing another chick score political points?
It seems to me that the repukes have used this type of shit for the last 12 years with damaging effect.

The question is--do we want to win or should we continue to play nice and get our butts kicked?

1. "Conservatives" have shown little value for one's privacy
Only their community would be offended by such a scene but since they are hypocrites it would be fine for them, ironically claiming that she has a right to privacy.

However, I think "we" can come up with something more powerful then that, like corker's political record and stances.

2. .
Do you think that this pic will decide the vote of anyone?
It's not that I think that the Dems should always lose playing nice. I simply have my doubts whether making that pic a topic and dragging his kids into this election would help the Dems.

6. I think Conservative voters are a sensitive bunch....
I think this type of pic doesn't play well with them and may turn a few of them off---enough maybe to stay home on Tuesday.

It's a close race. Don't make an ad out of it, but make sure people know.

4. Tit for tat (no pun intended).
The repukes always start it. I hate negative campaigning, and this year it is THE WORST YET. But whatcha gonna do when the fundie electorate is a collective moran?

13. I disagree
We need to expose the hypocrites.

These F*ing people have been out there saying that THEY are the party of family values, they are God's own chosen. But behind the scenes, away from their paid media whores, they are people like anyone else, perhaps a little worse.

If they didn't paint us Democrats as evil incarnate and out to corrupt their children (when it's their party that apparently harbors pedophiles)... then I'd be willing to let it go. But not now. If it will hurt them and help us, splash her image making out with another girl everywhere (with the logo of "Family values?").
Time to play dirty.

20. Then expose her Dad -- she's a private figure
LIke Chelsea Clinto... and even the Bush girls, except for the short time they campaigned for their father. The girl has committed no crime or public hypocrisy.

14. respectfully, I don't agree. Repukes have no bottom. Their own actions...
have put everything on the table. I think the fight between Dems and repukes is like the world war II eastern front. No quarter. Take no prisoners and kill the wounded. Eight years of chimpie has led to a quagmire in Iraq, and "You're doing a hell of a job, brownie."

They have forfeited the right to decent treatment.

18. Didn't she post the pic on Facebook..a public space
It's fair game once you post it. The internet is not private. Corker has made points going after Ford's family, his dating habits, and his race. Corker claims he holds the advantage on family values. That opens them up to prove their entire family has better values. I think it should be used.

EVen if she did, I don't agree with messing with her: she's a private figure. She's not running, she's a student.

7. For those of us who are educated to the ways...
Edited on Mon Oct-30-06 04:00 PM by Hepburn
...of the world, i.e., us liberals, a pic like that would not and will not make one bit of difference. But...to those who are of the narrow-minded, fear-motivated, fundie, radical extremist persuasion, i.e., Bush voters, it probably would cause concern.

The thing which bothers me is that as a liberal, IMO, we are above shit like this. However, we have had mud, trash, lies and other false bullshit hurled at us far too long and maybe it is about time we start hitting back. Also: It does bother me that the subject of the pic of the daughter is what appears to be homosexual conduct. I do not like seeing anything which is anti-gay or any other group which has been discriminated against being used for political advantage.

In other words, I have a ton of mixed feelings about his.

Edit for typo

The latest in the (scumbag) Joe Francis empire! Girls on girls! Men on boys! Lynn Cheney narrating with excerpts from her exotic lesbian love story!

23. Dragging candidate kids into the election WILL ONLY COST US THE ELECTION.
Seriously, I want the Dem to win the Senate as much as anyone, but this story will only cost us. I believe 90% of the ppl on TN have already decided who are they gonna vote for already. It the 8%-10% of undecided who will decide this election, and the overwhelming majority of them want to keep this election focus on the issue. Why do think there was a somewhat unexpected backlash on the anti-Ford commercial? Because it had little to do with the issues and more on the irrelevant stuff. If this pic get out, Corker will blame Ford's camp for dragging his daughter in the mud and bringing an irrelevant topic (which it is) into this already nasty campaign no matter who leaks the information. There will be a mini backlash for it with those undecideds and Dem will lose the election.

I'm happy to see Allen is having a mini backlash for his fictional book attack against Webb, but if some of us DU keep pursuing this I fear we will get one ourselves.

27. No I don't. Not at this late stage of it.
Did you read my whole post? The people are tired of these types of attack, and will backlash against the candidate or party who started it. Trust me if is a story/scandal worth reporting about it, I would be more upbeat about it. Negative ads/attacks work if it has relevance to the campaign if it does it will only create frustratation. AKA latest Allen attack.

30. They've never done anything like this, and I don't think it would work
People would see it for what it is: attacking someone's kid. Jesus, I even had some very Dem friends and relatives not like Mary Cheney being "attacked" because of her dad... and she's a public figure.

I'm not trying to fight with you, but I honestly can't remember a kid ever being swift boated before... for good reason.

While I'm not big on using a politicans child to get at them, this thread claims this is a high school party. So my question would be where are this girls parents while she is dancing around in her panties at a high school party? I'm sure she was totally sober too. :eyes:

29. There are so many better issues to focus on.
I am nothing like my parents politically so to assume that she is conservative just because of her father is a bit presumptuous. We already have this election. Focusing on this will only distract people from the real issues.
