Stop surfing the DU and start making phone calls!

The DU is a great place to talk politics most of the time, but right now we need to stop talking about politics and do a little politicing. I encourage every avid DUer to disengage from the DU for the next few days and go volunteer their heart out. Go work on a tight race and help us win back the house and senate. If there are no tight races near you, head on over to http://moveon.org/ and they will set you up making calls with your cell phone to key congressional districts.
I know everyone here enjoys posting on the DU, but give your keyboard a rest and hit the phones.

1. I did it for three hours.

One hour each, on three nights.

I didn't find it fun, but if I can make that sacrifice, so can you.

Yeah, I did two hours for them tonight. I was calling for Rowley. It can be discouraging, but it does get people to the polls. I also did a couple hours for the Congressional campaign where I'm going to college. People need to get on the phones and get registered dems who don't vote very often to the polls!

I know a lot of people at the DU are active, but I'm encouraging them to be more active. I'm also encouraging those who haven't done volunteer work to try it out and get involved. Especially in the next 12 days, I know I won't really be spending much time on the DU because I think it is a better use of my politic time to be spent on the phone getting people to vote.
