Don't Vote, Don't Vote, Don't Vote....
please tell me why any commercial would encourage the public to not vote. It is American's right to vote. What a bunch of rubish.

3. I'm watching Dobbs now--he just covered the coziness between
the testing labs and the voting machine companies.

I didn't see the ad--can you elaborate?

5. The ad has been around for awhile...
http://www.dontvote.com/ Problem is, I did not find the info very informative. AARP does support privatization. That's about the only issue that seemed to stand out on that site.

6. What they're saying is 'get informed before you vote,' which is fine
because some voters vote in such abject ignorance. The AARP is not stupid. They're talking to knee-jerk Republicans who vote against their own best interests. I think they used 'Don't Vote' to get people's attention. I guess it worked, huh? Haven't seen the ad, so I'm only going by their website.

8. The problem with the ad
is that for the first few seconds, they repeat this mantra about five or six times, guaranteeing that the listener has that going through their head for a while, while forgetting about the reason the "issues" message at the end. It is sort of a subliminal message.

It reminds me of the Head-On ad, where they keep saying the same thing over and over.

It guarantees that you will be thinking only of that statement for some time, and not what they say afterwards.

7. I find that commercial very strange.
Although their point is---

Don't vote until you have the facts about each candidate, which makes sense.

Just a weird approach.

It has got people talking so I guess the ad is doing its job.

9. Yes, that's a strong negative connotation

Reads like a "Don't Vote" subliminal suggestion to me.
