Medication and Parkinsons' disease, what you need to know
the medication Fox was taking is what caused the movements. Had he not taken any medication, he would not have been able to move at all and hardly talk.

Fox did not go off his meds to do the commercial. He TOOK his meds to be able to do the commercial.

Look it up.

1. I wondered about that
My dad had Parkinson's. Some of his meds did seem to make him shake more. But the docs usually adjusted them when that happened.

My heart just aches for Michael J Fox. I know what he is going through. It had to take great courage to make these ads.

2. Rush is confusing PD Meds with his own opiates.
What an embarrassment he should be to himself.

3. Amen Hamlette...
My wife has had PD now for 15 years. She has periods where she flails her limbs uncontrollably sometimes for hours! It's a terrible desease! And very misunderstood it seems!

6. Michael Fox in his book said

that he stopped taking his meds when he testified in front of Congress. This was the way he felt he could show them what his disability was really like.

Having been disabled from polio for 50 years, I have no problem with gimping it up in order to show the true nature of disability. He ain't faking it - he's just letting you see the man behind the curtain. Folk need to look at who 'we' are!!

If you don't want to see the real man - screw ya, He needs no one (especially a buncha do-gooders) to make excuses for him.

Deal with it!
