Move America Forward: Sheehan was addicted to porn chat rooms
This is the new low for Move America Forward:

Sheehan's Legal Threat Led CNN to Censor Me, Author Says
By Randy Hall

(CNSNews.com)- CNN restricted an on-air discussion about a new book dealing with the Iraq war because peace activist Cindy Sheehan threatened to sue over provocative claims about her in the book, one of its co-authors claims.

"American Mourning" examines how the death of two U.S. soldiers in Iraq affected their families. One of the two is the Sheehan family.

Co-author Melanie Morgan told Cybercast News Service she was slated to appear on CNN's Headline News' "Glenn Beck" program last week and that a producer told her it would be a short segment, focusing on passing claims in the book regarding Sheehan's personal life.

Morgan said she replied: "OK, fine, whatever," and continued on the promotional tour for the book, which deals with the families of Casey Sheehan of Vacaville, Calif., and Justin Johnson of Rome, Ga., friends who were killed within five days of each other in separate ambushes in Sadr City, Iraq, during April 2004.

While en route to CNN studios to tape the interview, however, Morgan received another call from the producer telling her that the segment would now deal with "everything but the sex issues."

Morgan -- who is president of the conservative organization Move America Forward -- said when she asked about the reason for the last-minute change, the producer told her it was made because of "legal issues."

<snip>

Sheehan stated during the interview that her anger was based on several statements in the book, including a claim that after her son's death, "Cindy had become addicted to online chat rooms of a pornographic nature."

The book also asserts that Sheehan exchanged "hundreds of explicit emails and instant messages" with a married man.

Sheehan in the radio interview called Moy and Morgan "hate-mongers" engaged in "yellow journalism."

"These people are using our tragedy for profit," she charged. "They always accuse me of exploiting Casey's death for profit, and what are they doing?"

The activist dismissed the statements in the book as "third- or fourth-party information" and "hearsay."

"We're gonna see them in court, and I hope they sell a bunch of their crappy books, because I'm gonna sue them for every nickel they have," Sheehan said.

Janine Iamunno, a spokesperson for CNN Headline News, told Cybercast News Service that the hearsay issue was a prominent part of the decision to alter the substance of the interview with Beck.

"I'm not really going to get into what the conversation was between the booker and Melanie," Iamunno said, "but I will tell you that Glenn felt that there were plenty of other issues with Cindy Sheehan to discuss that weren't hearsay, which is what he felt this element of the book was."

However, Kristen Schremp, a publicist for Morgan and Moy, told Cybercast News Service that the authors "thoroughly researched and documented each and every fact in this book. There are over 600 phone records, emails, instant messages and FEC documents that back up these facts."

"We hope for the sake of Ms. Sheehan's loved ones that we are not forced into litigation," Morgan and Moy said Monday. "But, if the documents are subpoenaed, we will have no choice but to act in accordance with the court's requests, therefore making the documents public."

"It's not like this book was written to pick on Cindy Sheehan," Schremp added. "It honestly was not. It was written, more than anything, to let the soldiers -- the people fighting for our country -- know that not everyone feels the same way that Cindy Sheehan does."

The book emphasizes "how wonderful and patriotic both of these boys were," she added. "We talk about their families and their upbringing and all of the things surrounding that, and within that context, we talk about Cindy Sheehan."

You should read the entire article - absolutely nauseating. This is how far it's gone. Right-wing character assassins are now threatening to make public alleged records of Cindy Sheehan's online activities, that even if true, have absolutely nothing to do with her criticism of the Iraq War. This is the right-wing in its most basic form: a profound hatred for dissent, crippling fear of free speech, and no decency, no ethics, no morals, or backbone whatsoever. America, America, God shed His grace on thee.

isn't it illegal for private citizens to get private account information? Wouldn't it bring into question their informants and how they got their information?

More to the point Who the hell Cares about Cindy's private life? It has nothing to do with her public life, she isn't out there pretending to be holier than thou...like Melony Morgan....the out and out hate-monger, who has had it out for Cindy since the beginning (almost like she was given an assignment)

Why are Republicans so friggin fascinated about people's sex lives? Assuming she did this, did she do anything illegal? I don't think so! If Cindy wants to be on chat lines, more power to her. I don't believe any of it is true, just saying I wouldn't care if it was either.

They're trying to make Cindy less credibile and slaming her with people who might listen. They probably know that people who already support her won't listen so their targets are probably people who might be listening to her. I just hope Cindy sue's.

They couldn't ignore her or evict her from the Bushler's presence, so now they are going to smear her. Even if they are proved to be lying, it will be too late because the damage is done. This is how they operate. What a bunch of sewer dwellers. I fear for her life though if this doesn't work, because then they will get really desparate and dirty.

Third, Melanie Morgan is a disgusting creature who needs to be put back into Mystery Mountain or where ever she escaped from.

23. They did the same thing to Bill Clinton.
Endless reports of “Clinton rapes” on Faux News and FR. Rather than debate others on intellectual grounds (which would be very difficult for them seeing as though they are usually wrong, egregiously so), these republiturds resort to gutter politics and defamation.

The only consoling thing I can offer to Cindy is: “Don’t worry, they’re just desperate - it‘s a sign of how badly things are going for them right now. They know that they’re about to be buried in the avalanche that will be the November elections; desperate times usually result in desperate attacks.”

Is this the real purpose of the NSA and other illegal spying? Who is monitoring Mrs. Sheehan's communications and who sold/gave those communications to Moy and Morgan?

31. It doesn't matter. Seeking sex to asuage intense Grief is not un-usual.
Cindy S. is an adult, and IF she did this, as long as she didn't break the law or let it become a *big deal* for her, her sex-life is her business.

Sex re-establishes certain vital connections to Life that are seriously damaged by deep Grief. Only a freak or a Republican would have a problem with this kind of behavior amongst adults.

Did anyone in the other family ever write bad things on their computer or do anything similar that they accuse Sheehan of doing? I'm sure they looked into that thoroughly, right? After all, this was a book that compared the two families equally, I'm sure.

But I can't help but wonder if "porn chat rooms" means those things on AOL. I used to occasion those when I was single. Writing dirty words is not exactly comparable to killing our young innocent people in wars of choice based on lies and hundreds of thousands of innocent dead on the other side-oh EXCEPT to fundie right wing evil sickos. It never ends. No privacy for those that DARE to question the warmongers.

Dick Cheney probably masturbates to pictures of goat's severed heads-but that's not relevant to his real crimes against humanity.

43. Melanie Morgan is a flake and a hypocrite
She had long had a serious gambling problem.

In 1990, Morgan resigned at KGO and moved to Seattle where her husband, Jack Swanson, had taken a job as General Manager for King AM & FM. While in Seattle, according to a report that aired in May 2000 on CBS News, she became addicted to gambling. "I felt totally comfortable behind a poker table," she told interviewer Troy Roberts. "I could just get high off the cards. ... On the credit cards, I probably ran up $ 25,000. ... And that doesn't count the cash that I was going through either." The gambling continued after she became pregnant, "I ended up going into labor early," she said. "Of course, I was in a terrible environment, smoke-filled room, hardly taking care of myself. Yeah, I was gambling right up until an hour before I gave birth." After her son was born, her gambling obsession led her to neglect the child, requiring an informal intervention by Child Protective Services. After counseling and sessions with Gamblers Anonymous, she says she was able to stop gambling in 1992, and in 1999 she became president of the California Council on Problem Gambling. She has not placed a bet in 13 years.

She is also one of the most vile people I've ever heard on any media outlet. Just plain evil.

Read David Brock's "Blinded by the Right" and see the movie "The Hunting of the President" for the inside scoop on how the Repug slime machine operates. Books like "The Real Anita Hill", movies like "The Clinton Chronicles", the "Swift Boat Vets", all fabricated out of thin air to smear Dems. Is this book on Cindy another example? Sure sounds like it.
