Congratulations shrub, for turning the whole world against us. This will be your legacy.

A party at the Swedish Embassy took an undiplomatic turn Sunday when visiting rock star Ola Salo's edgy political banter crossed the line. Salo was performing on the embassy's front lawn when he looked up at a plane approaching Reagan National Airport and told the crowd: "In this country, you don't know where those planes are headed." Then, according to witnesses, he said it should go "into the White House."

-snip-

Media producer Steve Skemp told us he joined the crowd of about 150 people (many fans of the band) while the band was in the middle of a song ridiculing President Bush. When the plane flew just above them, Salo made his crack. "I was stunned," said Skemp. "I was more stunned at the reaction of the crowd, because they laughed and clapped."

1. Not us, out leaders
The Swedes are hardly a hateful group, well educated, and not entirely blind.

Give them some credit.

2. I'm not surprised.....The Swedes are (generally) intelligent...
...perceptive people. They know a pack of crooked, disgusting politicians when they see them.
I remember polls taken around the world, when Clinton was President,
and his popularity was sky high.

The bottom line..Other countries know what's going on more than
our own populace...thanks to pricks like Faux News...

4.  "I was more stunned at the reaction of the crowd"
Finally someone gets it. To me, it is not so much what a Hugo Chavez or any other prominent person says about Bush, it is the reaction of the crowd they are speaking before.

8. Yep, but that was a 'pubbie who said that....
so I'm not sure he "got it". He was just more concerned about registering his outrage with the powers that be.

5. It takes a fool to remain sane
Sort of important part omitted in the extract...

"Salo, reached in New York, said he did not intend to make a political statement and is "very, very sorry" if anything he said offended. "It would be very tasteless to joke about such a thing," he said. "The events of 9/11 were a great tragedy not just for Americans but for people all over the world.""

12. He said that about the squatter in the WH.
NOT US. Most people know the difference between 'the people' and its fascist government. That was aimed at the idiot-in-chief. Not us. :hi:
