If you aren't registered to vote, but you visit this site everday, you don't deserve this site!

**Edited to state the obvious**
If you can't legally register, this message doesn't apply to you.

There are a few exceptions... but anyone in the US who is old enough and eligible to vote needs to register... and if you're registered, call the elections office and make sure your registration is good. Don't want any nasty surprises at the polls.

6. What about DUers who are in the process of becoming
Naturalized citizens of this wonderful country and who are not eligible to vote yet?

They only have a right to come to DU after they have been naturalized? What about all of our friends from other countries who are registered DUers?

7. I trust my fellow liberals and Democrats to see the obvious. :)
If you aren't legally allowed to vote, of course you don't have to.

Don't be obtuse.

The ones that need to be registered, but aren't, know who they are.

21. You know the OP isn't referring to those folks
So don't get so thin-skinned. Obviously the OP was referring to people who are eligible to vote but haven't gotten their butts to the registration office. Really. :eyes:

32. Well, it is extremely hard to imagine that DUers eligible to vote
have not registered yet.

The process to get naturalized is really slow (especially after 9/11). I would give anything to be able to vote. The thought of DUers being eligible but not voting is really pissing me off.

So, I'd have to agree with you and the OP.

8. Promised my dino US Rep he had lost by vote in perpetuity for giving W a
free hand to wage wars of his choosing. He now is one of seven dem reps to have voted for torture, suspension of habeas corpus and dictatorial power for W. His 'puke opponent would surely have a worse voting record and I will not vote for this 'puke. What do I do? Lie?

12. I'd lie
Honestly I would. Right now I don't care if Satan himself was running as a democrat in my district I'd not only vote for the prick I'd probably hold his trident as he went door to door drumming up support. Then come the next cycle I'd work for an opponent in the primary.

At least IMHO this isn't the time to protest or vote 3rd party, I want the stinking repukes out of power and I don't think I can wait much longer.

Just in case Democratic registrations are being discarded as the Republicans di in 2004. Switch back to Democratic registration before the next primaries.

10. California deadline for requesting an Absentee Ballot, OCTOBER 31.
Plenty of time.

California deadline for registering to vote, Oct. 23 (a week earlier than the AB request deadline). Only 3 days away.

Check local rules for other states. Most states have some form of AB voting (some with more restrictions than others--Calif has no restrictions.) Registration deadlines may vary.

SOMEBODY HERE KNOW A SITE THAT POSTS REGISTRATION DEADLINES AND AB VOTING REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL STATES??

Please post it. If fact, that would be a great post for the next few days.

there are plenty of du'ers who are not old enough, immigrants who are not (yet) citizens, or even (gasp!) canadians.

all are welcome, and don't have to LEAVE! to register to vote.
