HOLY SHIT!! NY May Become a ONE PARTY STATE!!!!!!!
Look at these new poll results on Kos, man those Sweeney/Gillibrand numbers are fucking AWESOME!!! And John Hall (Yes THAT John Hall!) looks like he's on his way to Congress!!! These numbers are FUCKING AWESOME!!:

From Kos:

Majority Watch has six new polls out. (Their previous rounds of polls are here and here.) As always, incumbents are listed at the top. There are no open races out of this bunch.

IL-08

Bean (D) 47
McSweeney (R) 44

IL-10

Kirk (R) 46
Seals (D) 44

NY-19

Kelly (R) 40
Hall (D) 49

NY-20

Sweeney (R) 41
Gillibrand (D) 54

NY-25

Walsh (R) 43
Maffei (D) 51

NY-29

Kuhl (R) 40
Massa (D) 52

These numbers feel a bit too optimistic. But regardless, great news on Seals! And NY may become a one-party state. With nothing driving Republican turnout at the top of the ticket (Spitzer and Hillary are running without serious opposition), this is looking to be the sort of rout that could turn its congressional delegation from 20D and 9R, to as good as 27D, 2R. The only relatively safe Republicans in NY this cycle are perhaps John McHugh in the 23rd and Vito Fossella in the 13th.

And I wouldn't rest too easy if I were Fossella or McHugh. Republicans have become persona non grata in New York.

Thankfully. Last numbers I saw Cuomo was definitely over 50 and Pirro might have been in the 30's.

The media never speculated much on that district because the Republican edge in the 2004 Election was significant BUT they have a weak incumbent AND Eric is a GREAT candidate! He is a great person also, he blogs on Kos every week, he answers emails from supporters, he is a straight shooter no bull type guy who absolutely HATES what the Bush regime is doing to our country. Pelosi is doing a fundraiser with Eric on Monday in NYC

I am doing volunteer work for both Eric and for John Hall. They both will carry our voice into Congress with them!

43. I know exactly how you feel!
in the last two elections the Republican in my Congressional district had no opposition. Now we have a county party that meets monthly, and almost all the Republicans on the ballot have opponents on the ballot.

If this hadn't happened, I might of stopped voting this year! At least when we talk to independents and other voters we have real candidates, not just hallow ideas to offer. Swing voters will only vote if they believe their vote makes a difference, and they will support candidates who they think can win.

A Party without candidates is like a planet with no sun..cold, lifeless, and lost.

If Democrats do this good or better in New York, I wouldn't be suprised to see a few Republicans switch parties after the election.

We (the Dems) have to pick off disaffected Republicans and Conservatives just to run candidates in local elections. It's a sad state of affairs.

Hopefully that'll all change on November 8.

62. my state doesn't have party registration..
that means on a key election year, we are free to vote Democratic in the Presidential primary and Republican in the local primary..or vice versa!

I think party registration only limits the leverage of all voters and while turning organizations, meant to represent the public, into nothing other than excusive clubs. Of course neocons love excusive clubs while Democrats loath them. IMO every state should have an open or nonpartisan primary, hopefully Democrats will do away with party registration in New York after the next election.

34. Don't crow. NYC was a one-party city
And the corruption was titanic. No checks and balances. This year is going to be a big correction, and it's necessary, but one-party government sucks no matter which party is in power. I say this with sorrow and the full weight of the disillusionment I felt when I actually pulled the lever for a Republican.

Aside from that: YIPPEEE! (Do you notice I seem to have a split personality about all this?)

Melissa Bean is an awful Democratic representative who supports big business 100% of the time, but her district likes her. She was safe.

But the RNC and Perry down in Texas have been throwing money into this campaign. Perry has put in a couple million through EFF and the RNC has dumped in another couple mil.
