I completely forgot about it. The gay marriage case in New Jersey. Do you remember the backlash in 04 when they legalized gay marriage in Massachusetts? Well, a decision is due by Oct 25 for gay marriage in New Jersey, and the court is overwhelmingly pro-gay rights.

I think this is what Rove is counting on for an October Surprise to drive conservatives to the polls.

6. I think Bush and Rowe count on things always being the same.
That is one thing we can count on is that things always change. Slowly at times. Every President has a man they think got him into office and if things did not change we would be still doing what they did 100 years ago to get into office. The man behind the MAN gets out dated pretty fast. Do recall that the world I grew up in in the 50's is hardly the world of today but you would need a map to see each and ever change and why and how it came about. I would say Bush is not a man who likes change as he keeps trying to bring the country back to some place we do not want to go, or that maybe people think was there and is only in their minds.

7. With due respect, uh uh. Can't assume Rove accepts the status quo.
I'm finishing The Architect about Rove and the one of several things I've come away with is that he's been working on his Master Plan since the 70's to put an all republican three-branch in place for at least three decades in the tradition of William McKinley. And there is nothing Rove won't do to get it. It's why he gets up in the morning so to speak. Bush is disposable, Cheney is disposal. It's the goal, not the politician. Rove is making phone calls, secretly meeting people on street corners, making deals 24/7. You cannot recall hearing about such an obsession. He wants it more than the pols do.

That doesn't mean he'll be successful; but it does mean that you can't write him off entirely. He's busy and if you plan to oppose him, you have to put in the same number of hours and produce an equivalent product.

12. I did not read the book but I will believe you but, as always, a but
it means little if the people change which they always do. What we need is new blood in to the govt. and some one usually steps up. Just as Rowe and Bush find each other you will see another group do the same with new ideals. It may not be as fast as we like but it gets here. Odd things happen when you start educating people of talent world wide.

9. Nope, they're getting flogged all the way to the poll and beyond
This is not a political wave, but a political tide; rove's gonna drown in it,
and bush may not survive it either. The anger is deep, not a surface thing,
as we all know they've been abusing power, horribly. And its just seeping out
in every announcement that they've worn out their welcome with all that.

Foley's just broke open how degenerate they've become, a perv party that
has entirely lost the plot, when our kids are at risk in iraq, are puddling
around with their interns, and covering up their grand old paedophile.
