Just now commenting. Old Bob is pretty plugged in to DC politics, I believe.

Says this Foley business is growing and some rethugs want Hastert gone. They are all about saving their individual hides now.

My translation: with all rethugs in the House up for re-election in an already poisonous environment thanks to their idiot *, they are in no mood to allow this scandal to threaten their seats. The calls for Hastert and others to step down will soon become a crescendo. And rethug senators in close re-election races will join in as well.

I didn't think he was such a bad guy, relatively speaking. Thought he was a pro with scruples and objectivity and ethics and all that other quaint stuff that is no longer used in modern journalism.

4. I liked Bob, personally

Sure, he was a "groupie" at times, to use your term, but he is cut from the old school cloth of reporting and that really did shine through when he was in as the temp.

Contrast that with "Ms. Perky" and you will see that Bob certainly doesn't look bad at all.
