Why GOP might like having pedophiles and closet cases in Congress
and the White House.

There is a principle in aviation that an unstable aircraft is easier to maneuver--it is already twitching to wild in some direction--whereas a stable one is more difficult to veer from its course.

The same principle has been applied when colonial powers pick dictators or ethnic groups to put in power when they pull back from direct rule. They divide countries so that differing ethnic groups are together, then pick the minority to rule in places like Rwanda and Iraq. Sometimes, it's just the individual who is weak like the Shah. He was a cowardly ass weasel, and would have been ousted a lot sooner by his own people if we didn't back him. The reason for wanting a weak dictator or ruling minority is simple: they will always need your help, and consequently, they will be good about following orders. A leader who has the solid support of the vast majority of his people is more likely to act in those people's interest than in the interest of an outside party.

The same could be true of congressmen and senators. If you get someone in office who has never done anything serious he needs to keep secret, that is probably a person with strong moral convictions in other areas too. If you ask him to do something, he may say no even if you gave him a lot of money. By contrast, the closet cases, pedophiles, coke whores, and such can be motivated with both the carrot AND the stick. And if they ever decide to start following their own conscience, you simply reveal those same secrets you have been holding over their head to the public (much like Papa Bush professed to be shocked that Noriega was a drug dealer or that Saddam gassed his own people).

That is why Bush is the perfect president for them. DUI. Half-assed military service. Drug charges. Male hookers in the White House. All of his intellectual and emotional flaws are outweighed by what can be used against him if he gets out of line. His other great virtue is that he has no conscience that can grow out of hand or the imagination to turn the tables on his keepers. He is simply one of those adenoidal purse dogs kept on a very, very short leash.

3. Especially when you invite them to parties, cater to their 'weaknesses'
get them drunk or stoned, AND take photos.

7. whole thing indirectly lends credibilty to Project Monarch/Gannon theory
I first heard about Monarch right before the Jeff Gannon thing broke. Monarch was supposedly a program to kidnap kids and train them to use sex to compromise powerful people at home and abroad. It seemed too wacky and out there--until it was revealed that a male prostitute was regularly visiting the White House, and some connected him with kidnapped kid Johnny Gosch. And that part still seemed far-fetched until someone left a photo on his mother's porch of Gosch and some other kids tied up on a bed.

If we ever have Church Committee type hearings again, they will make the first ones look like a debate over the metric system.

8. Brilliant observation!

These unstable people also have an enormous craving for power. People with the kinds of flaws you mention desparately need validation on a grand scale.

Bush is the perfect example. He sees the presidency as his Hail Mary moment to erase a lifetime of miserable failures. Little does he know that history will judge him to be...the idiotic fall guy for a shadowy group of evil men.

11. this is probably the only reason for Condi for prez push--
not necessarily that she has skeletons in her closet, but she has shown a remarkable capacity for being controlled and following orders no matter how destructive or stupid. He only flaw is she seems a bit nervous and guilty when she lies, which was also the problem with Scott McClellan compared Ari Fleischer and Tony Snow, both of whom could perfectly deliver Ike Turner's line from What's Love Got to Do with It? when Tina walked in on him having sex with another woman. He said, "Who you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?"

This was compiled some time ago, but still great. Now we have another name to add to it.

Regardless of intent, the original post seems to equate pedophilia with closeted gays.
Moderator consensus is to lock this.

Thanks.
