2. Reminds me of a story I read in my high school literature class
A character in the story was saying that when somebody starts out with "The fact is ...", then that means that the person is about to tell a lie.

6. In reality, the truth is...
that's more likely to mean that they're just wordy. On the other hand, if they start with "Frankly," or "Frankly speaking," they're not about to be frank and probably won't be telling the truth either.
