Oh yeah, flying around the country wetting his pants like the cowardly deserter buffoon he is.

1. We were all asking, that day.
And have been ever since. :(

2. Well, he sure is here, there, and everywhere celebrating, NOW...
...I guess he thinks that makes up for hiding when the crisis was actually happening.

3. Was there anything from any of the anchors who said "WHERE is the
President?" Was it Kyra Phillips? I'm pretty sure it was a female anchor that day. It's so glaring in my mind, but I was too swept up to write anything down. I'm pretty sure it wasn't from Aaron Brown.

10. Lots of pundits were asking, "Where's George?" that day.
In fact, Bush's absence for nearly three days was actually embarrassing some of the Brian Williamses and Chris Matthews of the world. They knew it looked bad for Bush to be incognito and they started, finally, to say so. I'm convinced that it was the pundits (and the people) that finally forced Rove to force Bush to show his face. And as soon as he did, the media fell all over itself to do what it wanted to do from the first moments of 9/11 -- which was to praise Bush's leadership and steely-eyed confidence.

Those of us who watched that charade, however, know that Bush had to have a fireman to lean on at Ground Zero or his knocking knees would have felled him like a fourth WTC building.

13. Peter Jennings was asking 'where is the President'
It was a huge thing. Right-wingers were screaming how dare he question the President. There were wingers saying they were going to boycott ABC and that continued for about a week. I think it had an effect on ABC on the day because Jennings seemed to back off on the missing President, though he would allude to it occasionally.

Bush was in hiding ALL DAY LONG. The one time we heard anything about Bush was when Karen Hughes came on TV and assured us that President Bush was OK. What a disgrace.

I remember also a street scene in the reporting of the turmoil in NYC that afternoon. They showed Mayor Rudy Guliani and his coterie walking through the dusty streets of lower Manhattan, and the reporter was asking him what he was going to do. He was setting up emergency response coordination from a firehouse or something not far from the WTC. Guliani was upset because he hadn't been able to get in touch with the President of the United States though he'd been trying to for hours. You never heard Rudy say anything about Bush other than 'great leader' after that day though. Every time I hear him praise Bush I think back to that street scene where the mayor of New York City couldn't even get in touch with, let alone any help from, Bush on the day of the attacks on NYC.

4. I watched a couple hours of it.
Only because on the original day I was shocked & watching it live helped to refresh my memory of what did & didn't happen.

5. More than Wet Pants
I sure bet he wasn't wettin' his pants in the classroom on 9/11. It was a little more stinky than that.

8. Amazing how fast CNN had one of their producers
Edited on Mon Sep-11-06 01:43 PM by DoYouEverWonder
on after the first plane hit. Hejust happened to be in a position to see the first plane hit the first tower and then was on the air within minutes with the 'official' story.

He also claimed that there were 20 floors impacted by the plane and on fire, when actually it turned out there were 4 floors in the impact zone and on fire. It wasn't until later that fires broke out on other floors.

9. Easy to think about this stuff in hindsight
At first, they thought planes were given weird navigational signals from WTC.

I noticed that CNN was airing WABC's feed at the time the second plane hit. On-air newscaster didn't seem to notice it. I had ripped on Bryant Gumble mercilessly for his reaction to it (arguing with a caller about it as we all saw it happen), and still think he's a dolt. I'm sure nobody could believe what was unfolding before their eyes.

11. An event like 9/11 needs their leader to show his face, to take them helm.
...and Bush FAILED MISERABLY. He should've been back in Washington by 11:30 am.:grr:

12. I watched some of it earlier
I was at work on that day and saw limited television coverage.

But as I watched it this morning it was interesting to note that bush was nowhere to be found, cheney was cowering in a bunker, the military and our defenses sat with their thumbs up their collective asses, but watching the firemen, cops and just regular citizens doing what really needed to be done that day reminds me of what a load of cowards there are in "power" and how us "average" citizens are the real heroes of this country.
