2. No.
He was likely injured in late 2001, but there is no evidence that would indicate he has died.

16. With all due respect, I disagree. He has been dead.
There is good reason why he has not appeared in AQ communications.

Now I don't necessarily trust anyone in our government to tell us how or where it happened, but I do think he is long gone.

3. Donning my tin foil Stetson...
I think the only way Repukes can hold congress
on Nov. 7th is to "capture" Bin Laden.

I don't think they would waste him on either
Rudy G. or McCain in '08.

So...

Going out on a limb here and answering your question:

He's either already on ice, or BushCo knows where he is.

But you are right, there is an Oct Surprise coming. Cheney knows he goes to jail when the GOP loses the Hill. Cheney does not leave things to chance.

4. Unfortunately not.
They can't find him because he's not a priority for this administration. He's been more useful roaming in the hills of Pakistan.

5. What kind of proof is there he is in Pakistan?
My brother seems to think he is dead because he hasn't been seen on tv in a long time.

6. There is proof for those who seek it. Even this administration has
quietly admitted that he's in Pakistan but that the government won't cooperate. So ask your brother why we're in Iraq.

7. I'm going for the bring out OBL for the mid-terms,
i have to think that this admin knows they have to win the mid-terms. If by chance they can't Die-Bold the election and keep a repug majority, they have to fear investigations by the Dem's.

8. I have been wondering that for a few years now...
I am certainly not an expert, but I have worked in critical care medicine for years and from what I understand bin Laden requires regular renal (kidney) dialysis. Now, unless bin Laden has a portable (non existent) dialysis machine he has to be in a location where he has access to a fairly modern and well equipped hospital or clinic for him to receive dialysis OR he is dead as a a person who receives regular dialysis could not live for more than a week or so without dialysis...

Perhaps he lives in Crawford or Kennebunkport?

11. Was this Osma-on-dialysis thing ever anything more than a rumor?
Edited on Mon Sep-11-06 11:30 AM by FredStembottom
I'm not asking a rhetorical question, here. I would like to know what evidence there ever was for the idea that he is (was) on dialysis.

14. Honestly...
I don't know. I should have qualified my statement with "if he truly is in chronic renal failure and requires dialysis".

Very good point! bin Laden has become the Emanuel Goldstein of the 21st Century and so much of what is out there is suspect.

Just was wondering, generically, about that.

I just woke up one day and Osama was "on dialysis".

I understand exactly what you are saying, and I agree totally! There are so many "stories" out there and I also would love to know what is true and what is simply more "bat-squeeze" (sorry, had to throw a Malloy - ism in there)!

They don't want him dead. Don't forget Tora Bora and the cut and run job there. Bin Laden and the current Admin are feeding off each other. They no more want him dead then he wanted bush voted out of office.

19. Absolutely
He would have surfaced in his own tape by now. Why keep sending out Zawahiri when showing up yourself would be so much more effective. He's deader'n a doornail, and probably has been for two years.

20. It was a master stroke of the Dems in the Senate
to prepare the amendment to reinstate the Osama hunting party and provide 200 million dollars to fund it.

Cuts the republicans right off at the knees. bush terminates the unit looking for him. The Dems have to be the ones to reinstate it. Beautiful.

23. I have no idea
Everyone here asserting that he is dead cannot produce evidence. Gut feeling has its value, but it is no substitute for fact.

I refuse to speculate. He may be alive, he may be dead, but since I do not know either way, I will not assert one as being true over the other without proof.

This is his big moment, the anniversary of 9/11 & he doesn't make a video, or even an audio tape. Instead, his second-in-charge releases a video - as he's appeared in every video for the past few years. Bin Laden himself hasn't appeared on a video in ages. I think he's long dead.
