Karr: 'How will you live with yourself when I kill a little girl?'

Karr had offered to plead

John Mark Karr told a Boulder investigator when he was still in Thailand that he would agree to plead guilty to second-degree murder in the JonBenet Ramsey case.

"If you don't let me plead guilty, how will you feel? How will you live with yourself when I kill a little girl?" Karr allegedly said.

• Karr claimed to have been in Hamilton, Ala., with his wife on Christmas 1996, the day JonBenet was killed. But he stated, "I could have flown on a Learjet to Colorado."

• Karr claimed he arrived at the unusual sum in the Ramsey ransom note, $118,000, by combining $100,000 with what he incorrectly believed to be the age of consent, 18.

• Karr drew a diagram of the exterior and interior of the Ramsey home that was largely accurate, but he put the driveway in the wrong place.

"I don't want to die," Karr added, according to the affidavit. "This wasn't a killing after deliberation, it was an accident. I don't want the death penalty, but I'll plead guilty to second-degree murder."

3. From what I've read, it sounds like he's a paedophile

Everything I've seen on the case suggests to me he is a paedophile who knows he is dangerous and is trying to make himself no longer a threat. He was in Thailand trying to get castrated (he isn't transsexual); he is trying to get himself put in prison; and now he says this. Even if he didn't kill JonBenet (and I doubt he did, there's way too little evidence) he probably has violent sexual fantasies about little girls, and is desperately trying to get society to stop him before he acts them out.

4. I think he wanted to become a woman

to make it easier to get close to little girls. He didn't have much luck as a male teacher. He'd have attracted less suspicion as a woman.

5. He didn't appear to be on hormones or doing the "real world test"

So I don't think he was intending to transition to being female. (That wouldn't get him easier access to kids anyhow; as soon as word leaked around schools of his past as a man, many parents would panic.)
