So what's else can we do on Friday...? Re: ABC and Path to 9/11
We need to make the most of the last business day we have before this thing is scheduled to air. Some here believe it will be pulled, but I don't think we should take anything for granted..., not yet.

We still have an entire 24 hours left to get more done.

So what else can we do, that we haven't already? What can we reiterate? Who to contact, e-mail, etc.?

Thanks,
bliss

2. LOL--you know me.
Always the eager, progressive beaver.;) I barely slept during the last election period.

We can't just look at what's coming down from the DNC and others and think this fight is over. Though I'm thankful and grateful that they got our backs on this one.

8. Even Dreamworks? The thing is, Disney is involved in so many
different products, boycotting them is pretty easy because there are a lot of other choices.

Here is their corporate page:

5. 1) write and call Congress-persons
especially Dems; demand they threaten ABC-affiliates' licenses and take a strong PUBLIC stand!

2) write and call local newspapers and TV stations (yeah, old-media is seriously complicit -- which is precisely why we have to hold their feet FIRMLY to the fire. Especially ABC affiliates!

3) talk to everybody you know about it -- regardless of their affiliation and leaning. This is TOO BIG to not beat the bushes about (fortunate pun, intended or not). Yes, I have to argue with my fundy dad, my Wal-Mart mgr sister, and my Shell Oil mid-level mgr sister. Oh, the embarrassment.

4) stand in the street, block traffic, bang pots and pans, burn dumpsters, and SCREAM BLOODY MURDER! (No, I am NOT kidding)

We FAILED to go to the barricades in 2000. We FAILED again in 2004. If we fail to stand and fight this time, and let them actually re-write the history books into this fraudulent abomination which could well throw the 2006 election, IT WILL BE TOO LATE. The republic will be dead, and the Empire begun.

9. Bill Clinton went after Kean today. We should help him.
We could call his son's campaign and let them know we will back his opponent. Or ? Here is a list of Kean's affilitations from a 2002 alternet article, but how to find out what is current?

"Kean is also a director for the petroleum giant Amerada Hess, the food services corporation Amarak, and the Pepsi Bottling Group. Kean is likewise a board member of the Fiduciary Trust Company International. He is a former board member for the CIT Group and United Health Group."

http://www.alternet.org/story/14820/

Kean is lending this POS respectability. He deserves some attention for that.

11. Do you have an article of Clinton going after Kean Sr.?
I know that he showed up at a Menendez fundraiser the other day. BTW, Kean is claiming that his position on Iraq is "Clinton's position." Clinton needs to smack down BOTH Keans.

:)Good idea if people are up for it... we just don't have time to organize--unless of course people want to picket them over the weekend.

16. If the Variety report is true and Rober Iger is mad, we should
press that.

Here's an exerpt from his letter that goes with the "Standarads of Business Conduct":

"People trust us because of our commitment to them and to the standards to which we hold ourselves. We alone are responsible for upholding our excellence and our integrity. This means acting responsibly in all our professional relationships, in a manner consistent with the high standards we set for our business conduct. "

We could call, email or fax him this paragraph and let him know we are withdrawing our trust of his company.

19. No. It's from a "welcome letter" at the Disney site
that introduces their Business Standards. It's signed by Roger Iger.

Imho, we should go after Kean and Iger. ABC needs Kean and Iger can make decisions.

22. My fax alone will include copies of every single Disney
event dh and I have attended the last few years, including annual passholder stubs, Baby Einstein merchandise receipts, gift receipts, even our vacation confirmation that will be cancelled soon--just so that Iger knows first hand EXACTLY how much revenue his company is losing from this household.

I wish I could overnight mail the bastard all of our Disney films.

I think it's actually against the law to spam fax machines.

Maybe we should stick to calls and emails. I don't want to go to jail. lol

:) I agree. This is what's so troubling about the corporations--they forget that WE are what keeps their companies going. Also, for so many it isn't enough to gain a monopoly over all other providers of goods in an area, they have to get into bed with politicians, too. :(

Taking it straight at Disney is move no.1 of any strategy -- even if we rely on more indirect means, setting a pick against the big guy is never a bad opener.

It would be AWESOME to get several hundred people to picket around the building!

Where is it though? And who is best to picket, Disney, ABC, or both?

25. I just found this re: ABC corporate headquarter location...
Late update: There has been a major relocation of ABC Studios to the East Valley. Disney has relocated ABC network employees from New York and from the Century City site to a new building on the Disney Studio lot in Burbank. Neither Disney nor ABC will own or reside in the Century City towers any longer, making Burbank the official headquarters of the American Broadcasting Company.

Meanwhile, a brand new studio was built in Glendale (on the Burbank border) for the local ABC affiliate, KABC-TV (Channel 7). It is located at 500 Circle Seven Drive, just a short drive east of the Disney lot, in an aging industrial section of Glendale, near the DreamWorks animation studio and Disney's own existing 'Imagineering' headquarters. Disney announced that it would create a 125-acre campus there with dozens of new buildings, sound stages and a high-tech business center, including the new offices for Channel 7 adjoining the site.

KABC/Channel 7 moved to their new television studios and vacated the Vitagraph/ABC lot in December 2000. ABC (the Network) will continue to tape "General Hospital" and "Port Charles" here on the lot. Disney will use the remaining sound stages for feature films since they have run out of room on their Burbank lot.
