Wow, Tucker just slammed David Brock of Media Matters
Edited on Thu Sep-07-06 03:14 PM by lyonn
Tucker spent the entire time alloted to giving his opinion and bashing Brock. Brock was never able to explain his views. This was one of Tucker's worst interviews ever - what's the deal?

Sheesh, forgot to mention it had to do with the Path to 9-11.

2. That was my first time watching Tucker
I wanted to bitch-slap him (and I'm normally not that violent or angry)

9. What surprised me is how obvious Tucker's dislike for Brock
was. Brock could not get many words in between Tuckers rant. Tucker pretty much called Brock a liar.

12. The RW doesn't like Brock because he used to be one of them
They consider him a traitor, for changing sides and ratting out their tactics.

Plus Fucker Carlson is an asshat to begin with, so meh

4. Brock was way too polite. He needs to be just as pushy and
rude as bowtie boy. I also think tucker protests too much about the response to the ABC crapumentary.

8. I saw that, ugh
It was sad. I would have thought Brock would have been better able to combat a right wing assault. Brock did get his points in, but he looked like somebody on meds while doing it. Very discouraging. I turned it off, can't take anymore for today.

10. OK I NEVER watch this crap
Edited on Thu Sep-07-06 03:22 PM by never_get_over_it
because it gives me high blood pressure - but since Bernie Ward is scheduled to be on soon I did - Tucker was ridiculous telling Brock the Iraq being integral in the 9/11 attack was not in the study guide, and that WMDs were found just not enough to start a war - and that it was absolutely true that Clinton had several chances to get Osama bin Laden blah blah blah - how does anybody watch this crap - by head is about to pop off

Oh my God and they actually showed Monica on the rope line - JESUS H CHRIST

Of course no mention of the repunks screaming that Clinton was trying to divert attention from Moinca while Clinton was actually trying to stop bin Laden

Bernie Ward you know I have to love you to put up with that shit....

on edit: I really still don't understand how these freaks can make such an issue out of Clinton not getting Osama when the freak in chief has had FIVE years and still hasn't gotten him and HELLO who the hell was pResident on 9/11 - sure as hell not Bill Clinton...

If I were Brock I would never come back on the show. Tucker claimed that Brock was a partisan hack, and that his site if full of misinformation. I wish Brock would have been more assertive and told Fucker that he was full of shit.

25. Brock might have but Tucker kept talking over him
Truly Brock is on the repubs hate list. I called his book "Blinded by the Right" my bible for several years sorting out all the who's who in the repub zoo. It is still helpful.

23. I Don't Need Research To Know That He Was Horrible. As Horrible As
any spokesperson I've ever seen. I really don't care what he does off of tv, and am sure he does some great things. That isn't my point. My point is that during the interview, he not only let Tucker walk all over him, but spoke as if he was on Thorazine. He was boring, unvocal, passive and failed miserably at overtaking Tuckers points. Tucker was able to bully him completely because of his complete inadequacy at defending the points competently.

This is just simple objective truth. I'm not putting who he is down, I'm putting down the horrible performance he just had in that interview. If we want our points to get across, we most certainly need people who are better at interviews than that doing it for us.

Just plain horrible. Decimated. Embarrassing.

24. Well, He Was Just Plain Horrible. I Wish Someone Else Had Done The
interview. But even though he was as bad as I've seen, at least it's Tucker's show we're talkin about here, so it's not like a whole lot of people just saw it anyway LOL.

27. True -- Tucker could probably have slapped me down.
Not that TUcker's good at his job, but it *is* his job.

Of course, they shouldn't be in the business of slapping people down, but asking questions. Oh, well, that's an antiquated point of view, I guess.

On a related note -- now that Tucker's lost the bowtie, maybe he'll lose the conservatism, too? They both make about the same amount of sense.

I hope he gets this video up on Media Matters as another example of right-wing idiocy on the part of Tucker Carlson. :)

32. Exactly. He Runs An Awesome Website And Is A Great Resource.
But when it comes to public appearances, he needs someone who is trained in the art of political argument in order to present and defend the content. I'm not knocking David personally as I'm grateful for the service he performs. I just know how important each media appearance is in context of pushing our side, and I want to make sure when those opportunities arise we have someone who is sharp in doing so.
