Starts in 3 minutes

6.) Controlled Mass Media: Sometimes the media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

12.) Obsession with Crime and Punishment: Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations

38. YET ANOTHER of the 14 points of fascism
2.) Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights: Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

56. YES!!!!another point of fascism..who owns the anthrax vaccine?
http://www.rense.com/general15/3wwho.htm
So, good old Admiral Crowe and his fellow investors in BioPort are set to make a bundle off of the Anthrax scare. Especially when market demand pushes the price of the product high up above the contracted for $3.50 an ounce. And who are those fellow investors? Well, another part of BioPort is owned by the Carlyse Group. That's George H. W. Bush's current occupation. Yet another portion is owned by (you had better sit down), the Bin Laden family!

13.) Rampant Cronyism and Corruption: Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

67. Now he's spouting the GC article 3 and how the US obeys it
and how it can be interpreted in different ways by different judges in different countries..and spouting the bullshit about how American troops can face charges since it's open to interpretation

We all know Bush is worried about how it will be applied to him...not the troops

and now he says he is asking COngress to "clarify" the laws ( war crimes act, GC) so they can know exactly what's not allowed

If ANY in Congress grants this man anything he is asking for, they are just as guilty as he is

71. "Congress needs to update our laws to meet this new threat ....era"
He is asking Congress to make torture legal...to allow his actions to be legal

he is using the excuse that it would hurt the troops otherwise...

I'm livid

76. It's a near perfecta-he hit 80% of the points of fascism
8.) Religion and Government are Intertwined: Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

85. So is he saying
that he wants to tie up Congress during the small amount of time left in this session passing a bill to take away more rights of people accused of crimes? They're saying he wants Congress to pass a law that prevents the Gitmo detainees from seeing all the evidence against them.

Those same changes would apply to the rest of us, no?

I guess he doesn't want the public to focus on the fact that the GOP in Congress won't pass any legislation like health care reform or minimum wage increases or any of those other bothersome topics.
