Everyday we get closer to peak oil and further from leaving the M/E.
Eventually, the powers that be hope, the value of staying will be reinforced by the growing dire need for more and more oil. Yes this is sick as hell, but are we really doing much of anything to make it less attractive? The main newspaper in Mesa, AZ devoted several full pages about why people hate photo radar because it catches drivers going 11 or more miles per hour over the speed limit. Our heads are not into this game of conserve or let your soldiers die so you can still drive however you want too. The shame of it ain't cutting it. The trade balance being whacked ain't either. If you drive in the center lane on the freeway at the speed limit cars pass you on both sides.

1. We will leave the ME when the oil runs out
unless there is plutonium under their sand too.

2. Yes. Of all Bush's failure, the failure to push for American energy
independence is the worst. From it flow most of the rest of the problems.
