Why do we allow Baronial Scum like the bush family to oppress us?
Edited on Fri Aug-25-06 09:45 AM by Philosoraptor
Like they have been doing for over half a century now? Why do we allow kings to live among us and why are we kissing their royal asses instead of arresting them?

Why have we allowed them to get away with this for so long? The rule by heredity? The baronial barbara bush attitude? Should we not be ashamed of ourselves?

Why do we let these ASSHOLES fuck the world up right in front of our eyes?

Why are we letting them get away with it? When will we ever fucking learn?

Why am I even asking this ridiculous question?

1. Sir! Once he takes his boot off my back, I will answer, Sir!
It's not like we want this fascist to oppress us.

But he's got his hands on too many levers for the proletariat to rise up.

2. Read Marx . . .
. . . or simply look at the world around you. Most people dislike change and responsibility. Mainly because either one involves unforeseen consequences. Hence we get sayings like "the Devil you know" and such. Most of the time, we just put up with stuff and hope it goes away. If you want to ask the above questions, ask these as well: 1) Why do most of stay in bad relationships (even when we know they're bad), 2) Why do we continue working shitty jobs we hate?, 3) Why don't we just speak our minds honestly in our day-to-day life? If you can answer those last three questions, then your own will be easy (I have no answers).

3. Because they have figured out how to . . .
"Work within the system" to achieve their ends. From Prescott Bush ("Hitler's US Banker") on forward, they've been able to take power without actually having to seize it.

If you're old enough, you'll recall that it's just like we were told to do, coming off the revolutionary rhetoric of the 60s. Working within the system is what John Kerry did, after all.

4. Cause we're simple minded organizers
I think it's interesting that in the Bible the first thing that God tells Adam to do is name everything. In fact that's, I think, the only proactive order God ever gives, everything else is just "don't do this, don't do that, don't look over there, don't open my box, etc"

It's interesting because so much of what we do is to classifiy and define and name things. One could argue that all aspects of science and social science come down to discovering things, which while beneficial to mankind, need names and classifications and descriptions and groupings and affiliations, and related notes...

We're information gatherers by nature. We gather information in, classifiy and organize it, and use it. We do this in everything we do. Whether we're looking something up on Google, or figuring out the new vacuum cleaner's settings. We're gathering information and organiziing it in our heads. Everything comes down to simple data retrieval and storage.

That's where name recognition comes in. When we recognize a name it's much easier to file and organize so it gets immediate grouping. If there is an election between 'bush' and 'shazzwat' we immediately can put 'bush' into a classification grouping. We might note even think we need to organize it more. "bush", "running for office"...file...

"shazzwat" no listing. no reference. no groupings.

Now for people who spend additional time thinking about politics and the related situations and gathering and classifying that information, it becomes easy to create groupings, and move beyond that simple piece of data. For many people though, they're either too lazy to gather that information, or they are too busy gathering other information (like how to best flip beer caps into a cup across the room and which techniques are better, and to name those techniques) too spend any time. So they have a big file on Bush, which is fairly general, and no file on Shazzbot.

So it's easier for 'Bush' to get elected.

so why do we let them fuck up the world in front of our eyes, and let them get away with it, and not learn, and even ask this question? Because we're information gatherers and unfortunately the majority of the population is more interested in gathering information and classifying the best fishing holes on the Clarion river, or which Nascar drivers stats are most significant to the current race, or anything else BESIDES these questions...so the information isn't gathered, classified, stored, or thought about...

And the rest of us bend over and squeel like pigs.
