FBI to bust down the doors of DUers....
Edited on Wed Aug-16-06 06:18 PM by Postman
Attorney General: Terrorists are in our neighborhoods

http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Attorney_General_Terrorists_are_in_our_0816.html

The most dramatic change," said Gonzales, "is the nature of the enemy our country today faces -- a stateless enemy sometimes hidden and nurtured here in our neighborhoods, taking advantage of the very laws they mock with their killing and destruction, as a shield from detection and prosecution."

"It is therefore essential that we continue to develop the tools we need to investigate their actions and intentions with the help of our partners, and prosecute those who travel down the road of radicalization."

...just what does "traveling down the road of radicalization" mean???

Is it "radical" in these lunatics' eyes to question their motives?

(nowhere in the article does it say the FBI intends to do as I suggested in the OP line. That is just my opinion)

42. I stand with Code Pink
every Wednesday night, rain or shine, at the Traffic Circle in Orange, Ca. The group has been there for 2 years. You can come and get us there, too!

But be careful, you won't be able to cuff one of us, he lost a hand in Iraq. Oh, and be careful of the older lady who stands with the folded flag she was given at her son's military funeral. And wait! Don't arrest our friend who has a son currently serving in Iraq. While you are at it, don't arrest the teachers, social workers, nurses and anyone who brings their children and their dogs. And you certainly wouldn't arrest the ladies from a neighborhood Christian Center, would you? If so, make sure you have transportation for the ones in wheelchairs, will you please?

Well, I guess that is about it. OK, we're ready now.

Either you follow the BFEEs radical ideas or you support their 'enemies' radical ideas. No one gets to use common sense. Too radical.

8. It's coming. Sadly it appears to be only a matter of time
However, there are some things which could slow it down considerably.

Consider 8 years of "rest" between Emperors George and Jeb with a relatively Good Emperor like Vespasian McCain.

By relatively good, I mean that McCain will indulge himself by playing Old Republic. Like the original Vespasian, he will restore sanity to an Empire gone mad under Nero (remember, everything being relative to the era) and he will treat the Imperial Congress with relative respect.

The stealing and damage won't abate, but it probably won't get worse (isn't it sad that such seems like HEAVEN from here). The steady Soviet-like horror will continue, but I think Vespasian MCain will mitigate it just a bit, and ANY mitigation of the stealing, fraud and 98% lies is a shower of blessing.

Then Jeb comes in and oh God, the camps may be open for business before he's through.

Historically, it seems of high probablility that American Totalitarianism will reach the place that all other totalitarianisms have gone without fail.

But maybe not for a couple decades.

9. This morning on Washington Journal
This morning on Washington Journal a repub from CA was talking about terrorists and said something about well, I would question if people who constantly protest or constantly call or e-mail someones office couldn't be considered terrorism. Chilling.

14. I heard that and thought the same thing.
All those letters, all those phone calls. Oh well, I'll die of natural causes inside ten years anyway, so big deal. They know where I am and if I was halfway ambulatory I would be in front of Senator Hutchison's office everyday she chose to be in town.

Terrorist, no way! Pissed off patriot, you bet!

This is the twentyfirst Century and the need to be agile to meet the swiftly emerging threats of this new age. They can no longer be constrained by the rules written for a much slower moving age. Didn't you hear Secretary Chertoff yesterday speak those very words?

28. no knock searches and seizures go back to the reagan years
i don't know where the rest of you have been, i was harassed as far back as the early 90s, and these changes in the law were actually brought abt under the guise of fighting drugs under ronald reagan

i could tell some tales but it's too much typing anyone who hasn't noticed after 20 years doesn't want to notice and won't notice until it's their own money seized or their own door busted down

21. Well, I feel terrorized when I see groups of men in the parking lot
All of which are foreigners, all of which love to swear every other word - you bet I'm going to go the other way.

While the media likes to sensationalize, it is inevitable some crackpot might live close-by. And does it matter if they have a H1B or not?

And, no, I don't count anybody initially as some terrorist killer. Until I see something that's highly suspicious. That's when I call. Not before.

Believe what you want. I think this hyperbole is getting farcical. Either your thoughts or mine qualify, but I don't let thoughts drive me to suspicion and paranoia. Sorry.

I'm prepared for a vicious and protracted court battle on behalf of the U.S. Constitution and my fellow Americans.

Considering I'm wrapping up teaching a class on Islam and my son is doing a project on the Secret Service I'd be surprised if my library habits haven't hit someone's radar screen.

I have no doubt I'm a terrorist....to Bush & Co. I'm sure my loyalty to the Constitution and my insistence on not converting into a cowering puddle of fear at their feet has them terrified. I am an enemy, not to the state, but to those whose positions of power mock it.
