Counter-culture vs. establishment. That's exactly what it's come down to. Some of those in the counter-culture during the 60s have become Rethugs -- and they're more self-righteous and insufferable than their parents were, in the way only new converts to religion or sobriety can be -- but I'd say the majority of those counter-culture advocates are Dems. Young people from the 60s who were pro-establishment (or at least didn't push back against it) -- the "Nixon youth", "Up With People" types -- are the Limpballs, KKKarls, Insanitys and O'Reallys of today.
