8/15 Email of NRCC Talking Points, Numbered for easier debunking .
"Republican Congressional Accomplishments

Current Issues & Accomplishments

Border Security
War on Terror
Medicare
Defense
Tax Relief
Economy
Education
Energy
Minimum Wage

"This month, House Republicans are holding town hall meetings, discussing key issues with their constituents, and preparing for the midterm elections. While Democrats continue to tout their poll-tested slogans and focus group solutions, Republicans are continuing to run on real accomplishments.

On national security issues, Republicans remain steadfast in their determination to keep Americans safe. From ensuring that our borders are secure (1) to providing the adequate funding for our men and women serving abroad (2), House Republicans have demonstrated their commitment to security (3).

On the domestic front, Republicans have ensured that 38 million seniors have prescription drug coverage (4) while college students are receiving more access to financial aid (5). House Republicans have worked to pass an increase in the federal minimum wage to $7.25 an hour over three years (6). Republicans have also passed tax relief which prevented a $31 billion tax increase (7) . The economy continues to grow: (8) in June, 121,000 new jobs were created (9) , and Republicans continue their efforts to develop new energy sources (10) and lessen our dependence on Middle Eastern oil (11)."

1. My quick retort
From ensuring that our borders are secure (1): Not according to Lou Dobbs. Lou continually cites problems with our borders from illegal Mexican immigrants to the fact that only a very few cargo shipments are actually inspected at our ports.

to providing the adequate funding for our men and women serving abroad (2): Then why are average Americans still raising money to get helmet liners to protect our troops from head injuries from IED? The only ones who are fully funded in Iraq are the contractors living on the teat of the American public.

House Republicans have demonstrated their commitment to security (3): House Republicans have demonstrated their commitment to securing themselves another term by going after issues that benefit their donors. They've also demonstrated their commitment to our security by allowing unprecendent intrusion on our constitutional rights by not providing the oversight they are sworn to do as office holders.

On the domestic front, Republicans have ensured that 38 million seniors have prescription drug coverage (4) Unfortunately many of the 38 million are hitting the donut hole in their coverage. As a result they are having to cut back on food and other necessities to pay for their medications.

while college students are receiving more access to financial aid (5). But only if they aren't run out of school or disqualified by Bush's inane "Leave No Child Left Behind" educational policies.

House Republicans have worked to pass an increase in the federal minimum wage to $7.25 an hour over three years (6). Yet, for some strange reason, considering they have majority numbers in both the House and the Senate haven't been able to pass it. It might be because their majority leadership sucks and is more concerned with things like preventing legal marriages between two people in love and passing phony legislation to keep a brain-dead woman alive than to worry about millions of Americans being able to provide for themselves and their families with decent wages.

Republicans have also passed tax relief which prevented a $31 billion tax increase (7) . And the fifteen people that were affected by this legislation have rewarded us with large donations which amount to fractions on the penny for them.

The economy continues to grow: (8) and this is attributable to outsourcing, co-opting of the Marianas Islands for the "Made in America" labels while the workers pay for the cost saving by working in sweatshops. Some of them have more than job! They also work as strippers and prostitutes. In all the economic endeavors they undertake they all manage to have excellent work attendance records because they are forced to have abortions rather than take maternity leave. In other words, the GOPs coffers are filled, Cheney's stock options are paying off, and the GOP is doing its best to employ journalists so the American people only get "happy news", so who cares how the average American is doing?

in June, 121,000 new jobs were created (9) , Unfortunately they don't replace the number of jobs that Bush's economic policies have killed since he tookover office.

and Republicans continue their efforts to develop new energy sources (10) The GOP is still pretending that ANWR will answer all their prayers.

and lessen our dependence on Middle Eastern oil (11)." Because someday the entire Middle East will belong to America. Hopefully this happens before the GOP leadership is Raptured.
