They've found the children of the boiling-oil-murder woman, alive and well
HANCOCK COUNTY - Police in Plaquemine, La., have recovered a white Pontiac believed to be used as the getaway car in the hot oil killing last month of a Diamondhead man.

Hancock investigators confirmed the discovery this morning of a 2001 Grand Prix with a U.S. Navy license plate found behind the house of Edna Mae Sanders' ex-husband.

Sanders, 45, faces a murder charge in Hancock County for allegedly pouring a pot of blistering hot grease on her new husband while he was asleep on July 28, just seven days after the couple's one-year wedding anniversary.

According to a source close to the case, Plaquemine authorities also found two children, reportedly in good health, who police believe fled the couple's Maili Way home with Edna Mae shortly before police received a call for help.

Sherman Sanders spent a week clinging to life in the burn center at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. He died this past Friday.

Police dispelled rumors this morning that they have arrested Sanders. FBI agents joined the hunt for her earlier this week and authorities said they are close to making an arrest.

2. Never heard of, but all Southern literature (meaning most decent American
literature) is based on crazy people, so it probably sounds like a lot of stories. My life sounds like a Faulkner novel, though not quite as badly written.

4. it was also made into a movie with Melanie Griffith
Edited on Wed Aug-09-06 12:18 PM by notadmblnd
it's about a woman who kills her abusive husband by putting rat poison in his coffee, drags him out to the shed and proceeds to cut of his head with an electric carving knife. She then places the severed head in a tupperwarebowl and heads out on a mini crime spree across countryt in her quest to get to Hollywood and star in an episode of the Beverly Hillbillies, all the while keeping company with this head. I didn't think the movie was as good as the book (are they ever?) but I think it's worth a rent.

6. Wow! Haven't heard of it. Although
As far as I've heard, there's still no evidence one way or the other that the woman in Diamondhead was abused. That's all been a hypothetical discussion, she may be just evil.

9. The victim called for help....
I read in a related thread yesterday that the victim made it outside the house where he raised the attention of a neighbor by honking his car's horn.

11. Neighbors. He stumbled out of the house and blew a car horn
and a neighbor discovered him and called the police. He was conscious when the police arrived, and gave some brief details before passing out. He was unconscious for a week, then passed away.

I don't know if there is some other corroborating evidence. I saw one story that talked about a witness, but didn't give details, and I think they were refering to him. There may have been more released, I've just been following it online on the Sun Herald's web page, from a distance.
