Think Peace. Talk Peace. Work Peace. And Then, Practice Peace.

"Peace Train"
(Words and Music by Cat Stevens)

Now I've been happy lately, thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be, something good has begun

Oh I've been smiling lately, dreaming about the world as one
And I believe it could be, some day it's going to come

Cause out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again

Now I've been smiling lately, thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be, something good has begun

Oh peace train sounding louder
Glide on the peace train
Come on now peace train
Yes, peace train holy roller

Everyone jump upon the peace train
Come on now peace train

Get your bags together, go bring your good friends too
Cause it's getting nearer, it soon will be with you

Now come and join the living, it's not so far from you
And it's getting nearer, soon it will all be true

Now I've been crying lately, thinking about the world as it is
Why must we go on hating, why can't we live in bliss

Cause out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again

2. In opposing war, sometimes we forget that peace was the first objective.
Regardless of what anyone feels, war is never, ever the answer.

3. "Merry Minuet " by The Kingston Trio
Merry Minuet
They’re rioting in Africa (whistling)
They’re starving in Spain (whistling)
There’s hurricanes in Flo-ri-da (whistling)
And Texas needs rain the whole world is festering with unhappy souls
The French hate the Germans, the Germans hate the Poles
Italians hate Yugoslavs, South Africans hate the Dutch
AND I DON’T LIKE ANYBODY VERY MUCH!!
But we can be tranquil and thankful and proud
For man’s been endowed with a mushroom-shaped cloud
And we know for certain that some lovely day Someone will set the spark off
AND WE WILL ALL BE BLOWN AWAY!!
They’re rioting in Africa (whistling)
There’s strife in Iran
What nature doesn’t so to us
Will be done by our fellow "man"

I got a phone call from my eldest sister the other day and she had some sad family news.
Well; sad to me.... But we got talking about the state of world affairs and then she told
me it reminded her of a song from when she was in college.
She began to sing the song to me over the phone. I thought she was just going to sing a
short verse but she sang the WHOLE song to me, in an attempt to try to cheer me up, I guess!
:loveya:
She's not very technically savvy, so I told her I'd try to find
the MP3 and I'd burn a copy for her. I'm still looking.

6. Thanks for the song, Breeze54.
It's so easy to be overcome by the violence that we forget the objective is peace. I appreciate your weighing in here, Breeze54. :hi:

4. Think Peace. Talk Peace. Work Peace. And Then, Practice Peace.
For there to be peace, it is our ENEMIES that will have to do this. We can do it all we want, but unless they agree, it will only make us a mark.
