today the Weather channel told us that it was so hot in D.C. that the

subway trains are running a delay system so they can check the tracks for heat buckling, inbetween trains.

2. It's true
I live in Virginia but work in D.C., they said the same thing on the local news this morning. It's suppose to start at noon.

I thought I left the heat behind when we moved here from Arizona, I guess not.

and to tell you the truth- I worry every morning taking the blue/yellow about a terrorist strike due to these idiot neocons generating so muxch hate for the US all over the world. And to add to this I have to fear high temps affecting the tracks!!!

7. I ride metro most everyday....
and I'm not worried anymore. It kind of wore off after about a year after 9/11. You just have to hope you're not at the wrong place at the wrong time, but you have to worry about that everytime you get in your car and drive the beltway anyway, statistically that's more dangerous, so I don't waste my time thinking about it much.

:hi:

8. elsewhere...

It was so hot in Cleveland on Monday that the city had to close a bridge over the Cuyahoga River during the evening rush hour because the steel expanded and the bridge's parts no longer fit properly together.
