3. I think that could happen depending on your definition of nothing

happening. Or the speed at which you expect it to happen. Even if we get the majorities, they aren't going to be the sorts of majorities that allow us to disregard the other side.

But a worst case scenario is Senate/House opens hearings on repealing the Bush Tax Cuts/passing stricter FISA guidelines/cutting off funding for Iraq War, President Bush puts Senate in recess. "We are at war, and I am a war President. I can't be shackled by people who don't seem to care about the safety of the American people."
