Is Lebanon the October Surprise?
Sure, it's a little early, but if BushCo plans on it lasting long enough it could do the trick.

Split the Democrats on the issue and rely on BushCo being "stronger in the fight against terrorism." The world is a dangerous place and only BushCo could keep us safe.

It has Rove written all over it.

5. Is Lebanon the Octorber Surprise?
If the Democrats allow themselves to be painted as soft on terrorism by calling for troop reductions as violence escalates then BushCo will appear to be stronger.

I think the Democrats are much better off forcing BushCo to defend why N. Korea and Iran are less threatening now than when Bush took office in 2000.

Forcing BushCo to defend the low morale of our troops in Iraq and why this makes us safer. Defend why given the total number of American, British and Iraqi forces in the field the country cannot be pacified.

Stop calling for troop removal but question why there is no clear plan to secure the country and end civilian deaths along with US troop deaths.

Better to put Republicans on the defensive defending Bush and his lack of a plan to win in Iraq and pacify the country, be more active against N. Korea and Iran's nuclear plans than calling for troop withdrawls.

Not only defend this fiasco in Iraq buy why were moral hot button issues more important than concentrating fully on a sound policy regarding Iraq, Iran and N. Korea.

I think the Democrats have some solid issues to attack with on the nationalistic patriotic front but are allowing themselves to be manipulated rather than taking the offensive.
