Schumer on CNN: I have no criticism of the President (plus Bolton update)
Edited on Sun Jul-30-06 10:53 AM by Karmadillo
Doing a good job re: Israel/Lebanon etc. He's standing arm in arm with progressive Senator Mitch McConnell. No ceasefire now. That would leave Hezbollah with a gun to the head of the Israeli nation etc. Hezbollah uses civilians as shields etc.

RE Bolton: He's assessing the Good Bolton (support for Israel) along with the Bad Bolton (tendency to prefer go it alone solutions in North Korea etc.). Looking at the votes, a filibuster is unlikely. Go Opposition Party!!

5. Charles in the running to be the new Joementum?
Schumer missing his old pal already, and Lieberman hasn't lost his primary race yet.

I'd be fascinated to hear what Schumer thinks Bush is doing that constitutes a "good job" in relation to the Israel versus the Muslim World fracas.

23. I had to turn him off too. He should run for office in Israel. He is NOT
representing an American state.

8. Schumer also riffed:
"We've all seen the pictures of the chidren and it turns your stomach, but who's to blame here...yada yada yada."

Also said it's not about "moral equivalency."

Chuck Schumer has so jumped the shark and deserves to be Liebermanned.

15. Is Bolton at the UN to represent the U.S. or Israel?
This is all so confusing. Do we still have the United States of America, or is this the United States of Israel?

the PNAC way of thinking representing the very worst side of both the United States and Israel.

13. It's important to his base.
I know every Israeli or every American Jewish citizen doesn't agree with Israel's current assault on Lebanon. But look at this map...

Regionally in the US where would you expect Senators would need to be more careful in their criticisms of Israel?

14. What a piece of crap he is....
Schumer and his ilk are among the reasons I can't call myself a democrat anymore. Schumer, et. al., are beltway, wall street, neocon, corporatist ass-licking pieces of shit. Hillary and Bill are in there too, licking up to Carlyle.

22. JFK had to SWEAR that he would not take orders from the Vatican
Shrub and his supporters have broken that pact with the nation. The religious issue had been DEALT with by JFK. It is wide open and bleeding again. And every Jewish politician running for high office will have to face it again, not to mention the non-Jewish politicians who are panderer/hangers-on.

24. If Schumer has no criticism of the president? I have no use for Schumer.
He is irrelevent.

He's entrenched in political money making.

I intend to vote a straight democratic ticket this year, If Schumer was on it I would abstain from that vote.
