Anyone heard this PSA on NPR?
God, I feel like I'm living on another planet sometimes. The following (not verbatim, totally from memory) was heard this morning on my drive to work:

"The Department of Homeland Security would like to remind you that the threat of terrorist attacks continues, and encourage you to remain vigilant. Any suspicious activity should be reported by calling 1-866-DHS-INFO."

Oh. MyGod. Like, you know, we might all forget or something, booga-booga, be afraid!

1. I'm not sure that's so bad.
It sounds like it's intended to remind people of the number to call if they see anything suspicious. I know that they constantly exaggerate and try to use fear to control people but that doesn't mean there isn't some real danger. This particular ad sounds pretty innocuous to me.

3. Do you know what? You might be right.
I went looking for the number on the DHS website, to see if it was easy to find. It's not. So maybe it's worth sharing, although the tone of the PSA just... ick.

5. I didn't hear the ad so you may be correct about the tone.
It seems dumb that the number isn't prominently displayed on their website.
