Does Edward Maxwell Von Houten annoy anyone else?
That's the dude that looks like a father-in-law with the fake AllTel Class Action suit ad.

2. I was just going to post a thread about this and then I saw yours.

I was going to call it "Who the hell is Edward Maxwell Von Houten and why is he advertising on DU?"

I'm at work right now so I can't do any real research to try to determine the people behind those websites, but I'm guessing that this "parody" is an attempt to push the "frivolous lawsuit" meme. I'm guessing that there are insurance companies behind it. Whoever it is, they need to hire better comedy writers!

On edit: I tried to recommend this but it's been too long since you posted it.

3. Seems to me that it's an ad BY Alltel trying to promote their service.
I mean, who else would pay over $1000 to push an ad for a phony class action lawsuit. Only problem is that this parody site doesn't list who is behind it...

I have problems with the ad being there since Alltel is just like every telecom company. 75% Republican contributions.

In any case, it's up to the admins to decide who puts up ads here. That is just my 2 cents worth.

I think you may be right. I may research that website this evening too see if I can see who's behind it.
