8. The thing is, religion is just a ruse these bastards use
...to dupe people into doing things for them. Specifically, to give them money and power.

Look at our administration. Amoral to a one, but they use religion for their own ends as effectively as bin Laden or this mullah. They're all snake oil salesmen. Extremism's insularity and focus of shared hate sell big when people are feeling impotent and scared.
