Mexico’s Losing Leftist Defiantly Awaits Election Ruling
How far he would take acts of civil disobedience to protest the results would be guided by “the feelings of the people,” he said. Without a recount, he said, the peace of the country is in jeopardy, a threat his opponents have said amounts to blackmail.

“One can interpret it however one likes,” he said in the interview, at his campaign headquarters here.

“It’s very simple,” he added. “If we permit electoral fraud, we are accepting that they violate our human rights, and we are not ready to accept that those who voted be insulted. We are going to defend the vote. We are going to defend the democracy.”

1. Typical NY Times bias ... right in the headline
Mexico’s Losing Leftist Defiantly Awaits Election Ruling

This must be the new "sore loserman" epithet from their latest style handbook.

5. There is a certain bias in the word "leftist"
much like in the word "liberal". "Leftist" implies socialist, communist, anarchist et cetera, which is a diliberately misleading label to put on Lopez Obrador, a moderate social democrat.

6. Maybe it was just good alliteration?
Inaccurate headline, but an eye-catching one.

Our enemy in journalism, IMO, is not conservative bias, it is laziness and greed.

7. The rest of it isn't so great either
"Defiantly Awaits Election Ruling" -- that's like Chomsky's "furiously sleeping ideas."

2. Good for him, dammit
I wish our own Dems had as much spine! It appalls me how much this resembles FL in 2000 and OH in 2004 in the US. You KNOW our own gov't meddled in this election so that the person they wanted in power in Mexico would win. Our gov't cut its election-fraud teeth on meddling in elections of other countries - they've been doing it for years abroad. More recently, they've done it here at home and it ought not to be tolerated ANYWHERE.
