Where are Cheney and Rumsfeld in these troubled times?
I heard a brief mention of Crash-cart showing up at a GOP fund-raiser, but I have seen nothing else about him in a couple of weeks. And it's too early for hunting season. Rumsfeld, too, seems to be in a bunker as the Middle East burns. And Condi? Yo! Condi?

3. Frighteningly, they're in my dreams.
Both of them showed up in a dream I had last night. They weren't in handcuffs so clearly it was a nightmare.

4. Holed up with a bunch of teenage male prostitutes, I'd guess
Not for sex, mind you. Cheney eats them for snacks. Rummy plays "Most Dangerous Game" with the young boys. He really gets a kick out seeing blood spill on naked flesh.

6. All but Bush and a few spokespersons ..
.. seem to be CONSPICUOUS BY THEIR ABSENCE.

This country leadership is virtually rudderless and impotent.
The only powerful interests speaking to the American people
are the schmoozy, feelgood talkshow hosts and news heads,
and they are interested only in infotainment.

Sad days.

7. Did you ever notice...
that when the Chimp goes and makes a serious ass out of himself like he has this week, the dark lord is nowhere to be found? It was the same during the Katrina farce.

You know, I was watching "Marathon Man" with Dustin Hoffman. A really good movie from the 1970s I had watched so long ago I forgot the plot. And what made it more thrilling was the character played by the ever great Lawrence Oliver who reminded me so much of Cheney I was even more on the edge of my seat. Great suspense thriller of a movie filmed in Manhatten and the Twin Towers weren't even up yet. I kept looking for them along the skyline and couldn't even see half of them up although they were being built at the time.

10. More often than not, America's leadership vanishes when something happens.
Where were they on 9/11? During Hurricane Katrina? Now during the Israel/Lebanon conflict. We've seen Shrub, too much of him if you ask me. Condi was getting into it with the Russians last week, but not much from her since then.

I wonder if they sometimes get scared of all the shit they've started, and hide in a corner in the fetal position. Then their meds are adjusted, and they appear in public again in their normal zombie-like appearance.

How nice it would be to have *QUALIFIED* leadership in this country for a change!
